Several months later...

Hazel put her books in her locker, the brunette ignoring the students walking behind her. Her purple iris's followed the students, watching them warily as she made her way back toward class.
Hazel had made her home here, hidden among the students of Hexside.
No one had bothered her yet, other than the bully Boscha every now and again, and she planned to keep it that way for as long as possible, not talking to anyone unless she needed to.
Carrying her next set of books, Hazel wasn't watching where she was walking. Bumping into another student, she almost caused the witch to knock her pot over.
"I-i'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She stammered, covering her face as she walked away from the two students.

When the apologising student was gone, Luz peeked her head out of Willow's pot. "Who was that?" She asked curiously. Willow and Gus eyed each other, before returning their gaze to the disappearing vampire. "That's Hazel, a student in the Potions Track. No one really talks to her." Willow explained.
Luz turned her gaze back to where the vampire disappeared. A determined gleam entered her eyes, as she smiled mischievously to herself. "It will be my quest to be the first person to be her friend." She chuckled, disappearing back into the pot. Gus watched her uncomfortably, taking a step back. "I didn't know humans could be....kind creepy. Fascinating."

In potions class, Hazel sat at the back, taking notes as her teacher wrote on the board. Feeling something land in her hair, she struggled to pull it out, looking up to see Boscha and her friends giggling amongst themselves.
With a silent glare, Hazel took what she realised was gum out of her hair, flicking it into the bin with a disgusted sigh.
The bell went off, and Hazel collected her books. Standing up, she almost got struck in the face with a grudgby ball, if she hadn't reacted in time.
"Oops, my bad." Boscha laughed, walking out of the classroom. Hazel waited inside for a few minutes, just to make sure she really was gone, before making her way to lunch.
She sat down at an empty table by the window. Taking a bit of her sandwich, Hazel stared out the window, not paying attention to the two witches headed her way.
"Ehem."
Startled, Hazel turned to the voice, eyes widening in surprise when she caught sight of the students she'd run into before, carrying their pot behind them. The girl waved her hand. "Hi! I'm Willow, and this is my friend, Gus." She introduced. Gus waved. Hazel timidly waved back. "H-hi..."
"We were wondering if we could sit with you?" Willow asked. Hazel nodded. "Uh, s-sure, go ahead!"
Willow thanked her, moving her pot next to her and sitting opposite Hazel. Gus sat next to the pot, getting out his sandwich.
Willow's abomination peeked out of the pot, whispering something into Gus's ear. "Oh, sure! Here you go!" He said, as he gave the abomination half of his sandwich. It bit into it hungrily, disappearing back into the pot.
Hazel tilted her head in curiosity. "Huh, I didn't know abominations could-"
She was immediately cut off, however, when another witchling jumped onto the table, causing it to shake. "I SAW THAT!" She shrieked at Willow. "ABOMINATIONS. DON'T. EAT."
Hazel slid away, raising her book so she wasn't apart of the confrontation. Yet, she couldn't help but be curious at the witching's statement.
The same witchling was now shaking Willow's abominations, demanding it to tell her what it was.
"Amity Blight!"
The witchling looked up, shocked as a teacher walked out. Hazel recognised it to be the Abominations track teacher. "I suspected a twinge of jealousy, but this, this is just sad. To Principal Bump's office, now!"
The witchling, Amity, stammered, before following the teacher to Principal Bump's office.
Hazel watched her go, as Amity glanced over her shoulder, glaring at their table. She caught sight of Hazel, who quickly looked away. She didn't want to be dragged into this.

"Hazel, Principal Bump would like to see you."
Hazel glanced up at the teacher, who was looking into his crystal ball. The students all glanced at her, waiting for her to reply.
Standing up, she tensed as she heard Boscha's gang giggling. Rushing out of the room, she didn't look back as she made her way to Bump's office.
When she opened the door, she saw Amity Blight in there as well, smirking victoriously with her arms folded confidently.
"So, you must be Hazel. I haven't seen you around here much. Are you a new student?" He asked. Hazel gulped. "I-i've been here for the past....two years." She stammered out. Bump hummed in thought, but shrugged it off. "Well, that's probably why. Anyway, Amity told me that Willow's abomination ate, and that you were a witness. Tell me, is it true?"
Hazel avoided eye contact. "I-i think so?"
Bump hummed in thought once again, as he stood up. "Well, I must go see this new abomination. After all, I'm intrigued."
Ordering the two to follow, Hazel could do nothing but obey. Following him down the halls, Bump easily located Willow, Gus, and the abomination.
"Good afternoon, students."
"Principal Bump!"
The abomination, who was standing outside the pot, immediately went limp. Willow eyed Hazel, an angry expression on her face. Hazel looks away, guilt building up in her chest. She knew now that the abomination wasn't actually an abomination.
Principal Bump stepped closer to the non-abomination, lifting them up for a better examination. "Hmm. Abomination, rise." He ordered.
The non-abomination nervously got to her feet.
"Abomination, lie."
The non-abomination stammered for a moment, before speaking. "Uh, viral fame is a worthy pursuit. Your cat would never eat you if it got the chance. Chemtrails are real-"
Principal Bump chuckled. "Oh no, abomination. How strange for it to get the command wrong. I mean lie down." Principal Bump pointed to the desk, and the non-abomination let out a small whimper as she lay down.
Principal Bump looked down at the non-abomination. Hazel started to sweat under Willow's intense glare, but she could see that the witchling was stressed. This non-abomination was Willow's friend, and Hazel needed to help her get away. Making her way over to the pots of abomination goop.
Principal Bump had by now given Willow a knife, and was urging her to cut open the non-abomination. Hazel panicked. "Principal Bump, wait!"
The principal turned to look at her, as well as the other students and non-abomination. "Uh-um. Diversion!"
Hazel knocked over the three pots, distracting the principal and Amity.
"Run!" Gus shouted, trapped between Bump and Amity. Using his illusions, he created multiple versions of the abominations. Willow ran out the door, but the non-abomination ran up to Hazel and grabbed her hand, before following the other student. The student looked down in shock, but followed her. She knew she'd be in a lot of trouble if she were caught.
"They're getting away!" Amity shrieked from behind them. Her voice slowly started to fade, as they travelled through the halls.
"Hi! My names Luz! You must be Hazel! It's nice to officially meet!" Luz panted, as she followed Willow. Hazel looked at the non-abomination nervously. "U-um...hi?"
Luz caught up to Willow, who glanced up to Hazel. Her eyes widened. "Are you crazy!? She ratted you out!" She hissed quietly. Luz shrugged. "Yes, and she also helped us get away." Willow squinted at the nervous witchling. "...touché."

Hazel rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "So, uh...I'm guessing you're not a student here?" She chuckled. Luz nodded. "Yeah. I'm sorry Willow. This is all my fault. I just wanted to see what a magic school was like." She muttered sadly.
"Well, how do you like it?" Willow asked. Luz smiled. "It's lovely, actually." She commented. Hazel glanced around. "I-i think you should get out of here before-"
Red light patterns covered the walls, sealing off the doors with a red barrier. They slowly covered the school. Hazel, Willow and Luz all stared at the doorways in dismay.
"...Bump sealed us in." Willow finished.

The three girls ran through the halls, desperately trying to find a way to escape. But where ever they went, abominations followed them. They seemed refuge behind a pillar.
"Oh, this is awful." Willow whimpered, sinking to the ground. Luz knelt beside the young witch, while Hazel only leaned against the pillar, trying to calm her rising anxiety.
Willow continued. "I don't know what to do. Amity's right. I'm just Half-a-Witch Willow."
Luz placed a hand on her shoulder. "You're Full-Witch Willow. And you're great. And someone once told me great witches are resourceful." The human announced. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out its contents. A bandaid, a piece of string, marble, button, and what Hazel first thought was a rock.
Willow gasped, picking up the "rock". "That's it!" She exclaimed excitedly. Luz tilted her head in confusion. "You mean that greasy slime ball?" She asked.
The young witch shook her head. "Luz, it's a seed! Thank goodness you had it on you!"
Luz smiled at that, looking thoughtful as she seemed to remember something. "Yeah. Thank goodness someone told me to hold on to it."
Hazel glanced up, letting out a yelp. The abomination's were only a few metres away, ready to capture the three.
Placing the seed on her lap, Willow traced a spell circle over it. "Please grow!"
Thorny vines grew from the seed, reaching to the ceiling. They stab through the abominations and eventually target Principal Bump, sending him to the roof and pinning him there. Hazel ducked as one vine soared over her head.
Vines now covered the entire atrium, curled around the pillars and reaching from the bottom most floor to the ceiling, Pink petals fall from above, and several of the vines have flowers on them.
The three girls looked up, realising that the red patterns that covered the school were now fading, leaving them a way to escape.
"There's the exit!" Luz pointed, and Luz and Willow ran for it, while Hazel stayed behind. She watched as Amity blocked their path, ordering an abomination to capture Luz.
The young student hurriedly made her way toward another part of the school, trying to sneak away. Halting in her tracks, she let out a yelp as an abomination rose from the ground, grabbing her by the scruff of her uniform. She glanced around, realising Principal Bump was standing in front of her. Willow and Amity stood on either side of him.
"Hazel, I am very disappointed that you helped the intruder escape. For that, I'm going to have to expel you." He explained. Willow raised her hand. "Wait, Principal Bump! It's not her fault! We....told her to do it." She said.
Hazel's eyes widened, looking down at the witchling. Willow gave her a wink.
Principal Bump glanced at Willow. "Really?" He asked, skeptically. Willow nodded. A moment of silence went by, and Bump let out a sigh. "Alright. I don't believe you, but I'll let this one slide." He muttered, ordering the abomination to put Hazel down. The principal turned his back on her, and Hazel mouthed a "Thank you" to Willow.
"Miss Willow, although I don't approve you brought an intruder into the school, I am thoroughly impressed by your performance earlier. I'm placing you into the Plant Magic Track, where you'll learn to harness your ability."
Willow squealed. "Thank you, Principal Bump!" She said.
The bell screamed, signifying the end of the school day. The principal waved the students away. "You are all dismissed."
Hazel chuckled nervously. "Th-thank you Principal Bump." She said, walking away. Disappearing around the corner, she heard Amity say, "Principal Bump! Could today count as extra credit?"

Luz hugged Willow, happy that her friend was placed in a track that would help her. "Yes!" She then stopped, letting out a gasp. "What about Hazel? Is she ok?" She said, glancing around. Willow nodded her head. "Yep! Hazel's okay! I made sure she was!" The witch smiled. Luz let out a sigh of relief. "Oh, thank gosh." She said, before frowning once again. "What about Amity?"

Hazel glanced around, making sure no one was watching her. Reaching out, she pushed the large doors of detention open.
The worm-like demons inside glanced at the door opening, but didn't bother to investigate. They knew who it was, and they weren't interested.
Hazel closed the doors once again, letting out a sigh. "Today was...a very interesting day." She mumbled, moving toward the rocks where she hid her blanket, snacks and belongings. Climbing over them, she reached for her favourite books, The Good Witch Azura and a dragon book named Dragon Species. There weren't any in this realm anymore, but Hazel loved the large, scaly beasts.
She stared at the covers, mind wondering to the events of that day. "Why did that witchling help me?" She wondered, staring at the wall in front of her.
The demon stared down at her hand. "Have I...made "friends" today?"
