"Tyler! Why aren't you picking up your phone!" You grumbled to Tyler's voicemail as he didn't pick up again. You'd been trying to call him for the last ten minutes. After something had attacked a few people at the library.

You'd gone with the intention of helping Bonnie. But as soon as you found the book that you needed something fast had attacked several people. You'd gotten away but you had the distinct feeling that something was stalking you. You'd texted Tyler a few times as well, but deciding that there was nothing else to do, you called Matt. Matt picked up on the second rung.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Um... are you anywhere near the library. There was some kind of attack from something, you know... not human, I can't shake the feeling that it's following me." You explained quickly. Something rustled behind you and you turned, finding nothing. You heard a commotion and then heard Tyler's voice.

"What's going on?" Tyler asked. You grumbled under your breath and started walking quicker.

"Did you not check your phone?" You snapped. By now you were jogging at a fast pace, hurrying along and hoping to get home or run into someone that you knew, before the growing dread that was rising up the back of your throat came to anything.

"Oh... I'm sorry. (Y/N) we're on our way. We'll deal with it." Tyler assured you confidently as he hurried to get to Matt's car.

"How exactly are you going to deal with it?" You asked, relieved that he hadn't hung up on you. Matt's house was a few minutes away and it occurred to you that you should head that way, rather than home.

"I am, what psychiatrists call, alpha male." Tyler replied. Turning down the road, you ran, hoping that once you got off the main road the terrible feeling would stop. Instead something large and shadowy lept towards you. Matt's car turned down at the other end of the road and you had just enough time to roll yourself out of the way as the car slammed into the thing that was attacking you.

Tyler hopped out of the car. "Matt, get (Y/N) out of here. Try and get hold of Stefan!" He demanded as he grabbed for you and yanked you to your feet. He seemed to look you over for a second to see if you were hurt and almost hesitated as Matt took you by the arm and rushed you into his car. As Matt reversed down the road he fumbled for his phone.

"Oh... my god! Matt, we can't leave him!" You yeled as the thing started to absorb all the shadows in the street and grew twice as big as it had been when it attacked you. It went for Tyler who seemed engulfed in shadows.

"Call Stefan... and Caroline. Call everyone!" Matt insisted. He spun the car around in one smooth movement, spinning the wheel in his hands. He glanced back in the rearview mirror before driving down the road towards his house at top speed. You grabbed Matt's phone dialing for Caroline while you used your phone to send a text to Stefan, then Elena.

"It's after the book... for Bonnie. Isn't it? This is more important than anyone said." You asked as the phone rang. Matt glanced at you and looked guilty.

"Tyler said we should distract whatever that is and it wouldn't suspect you would go and get the book. They should have sent someone to help you." Matt answered curtly. There wasn't time to say anything else as Caroline picked up.
