"Alright, that should be everything I need. If you wouldn't mind fetching me a coffee." Carol said with a smile. You nodded and took the letters that she handed you. You knew the coffee place she preferred and seeing as you had to go into town to get the letters posted, it wouldn't be too much of a bother to pick some up.
Working for Carol has been great. It looked great on your resume, being assistant to the mayor. If you were honest, Damon managed to get you the position and you weren't certain he had done it with human persuasion. The only down side was Tyler. As if he was able to hear your thoughts Tyler came in from his morning run. He had convinced himself that the only reason that you took the job was because of him.
"Still hanging around?" Tyler asked as he paused in the hallway. He smirked at you, then frowned when he realised you weren't looking his way. You busied yourself with securing the letters in your bag and getting your jacket.
"Is there something you need from the Mayor? If not then I have things to do and don't have time for you." You answered quickly. He rolled his eyes.
"You're still kissing my mother's ass?" He asked, sounding very much as if he was judging you. "If you're looking for an ass to kiss, it's mine."
"As horrible as that sounds. I have work to do." You snapped and headed past him out to the door. He scowled after you and rolled his eyes, heading up to his room, checking out of the window as he passed to see if you were really leaving.
