"Ladies and gentlemen." A booming voice came from the unknown. "We are glad to see so many faces here, we have over 5 million people watching worldwide currently."
What's going on?
"We are live from the Nintendo Wii U! Welcome to Smash 4, fans of Nintendo in Japan and around the world. I am the master hand, the host, announcer, and part-time commentator. Everyone came here to see some fights, but first, I would like to welcome the president of Nintendo of America."
"Hello everyone." Said a voice, a voice that belonged to no one other than Reggie himself. "It's been a while, but we are back!"
I could hear clapping and screaming above me.
Reggie gave an elaborated speech about the history and present of the Tournament, I got so bored listening to it halfway through, that I almost fell asleep.
"And now, the first match of the fourth iteration of Super Smash Bros, we have a highly anticipated matchup on our hands between two newcomers of the tournament."
A bright screen covered my eyes, I could not see anything. After I managed to open my eyes again, I found myself in the middle of an endless void. Above me, was a massive screen. Ahead of me, was Lucario. And all around me, were audiences of all kinds, there were so many people around me, that each of their faces looked like tiny dots in a sea of dots. Oh crap, why are my legs softening?
This is...the legendary Final Destination...
"On your left, a formidable combat machine from the Pokemon series, a pseudo-legendary loved by the many, it is the aura-infused legend, Lucario!" Reggie announced with pride. Thunderous clapping and cheering came from the crowd.
"And your right, a young boy with the heart and soul of a true challenger, a boy who was doubted by his wronged comrades, it is the mighty, Villager from the Animal crossing series!" Clapping and cheering came just as loud, I felt flustered, actually, I was about the break down from nervousness.
Heart of a true challenger? When did Reggie come up with that? I am none of those things!
"Now fighters, before we get right into the action" Master hand said from the commentator's stand floating in the middle of the sky. "You may speak one sentence to your opponent."
The massive screen on top of me zoomed into Lucario's face.
"Challenger? He doesn't look like a challenge." Lucario said as he chuckled. The crowd gasped.
"Big words from Lucario." Master hand said. "Now to Villager."
The camera zoomed in on me, I was all messed up. I usually never use any comeback when someone insults me, I would usually just leave or apologize for existing as an inconvenience.
"I...um...I am happy to be here, a lot more than happy, I am thrilled! I...I hope we have a fair match, and hopefully, we can both learn from each other! I would happily win or lose, it's all part of the experience."
That was better in my head.
"Very humble words from Villager." Master Hand said. "Without further ado, let the games begin, and may the odds be ever in your favor. (reference lol)"
Are the fights gonna start now? No ifs no buts? I locked eyes with my opponent, who held a taunting expression and focused stance. He was looking as confident as a blue-colored dog can ever be, with all of his smirking and hissing. If the purpose of his taunt was to intimidate me, well, mission successful for him, cause he did.
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"GO!"
