"And then what happened after you fixed his car?"
"He asked me out."
Avalon's mouth hung open in shock and I gave her a weird stare. Her face slowly broke out in a large grin and I shook my head and warned her. "No, Ava. Don't-"
"HE ASKED YOU OUT! WOO HOO!"
She screamed and I crossed my arms and watched her dance around my room. I laughed as she stumbled across my room and fell on her back. "Are you okay?!" I called as she laid on my floor.
"YOU'RE GOING ON A DATE WITH GIOVANNI RUSSO!!"

"I brought alcohol!!!"
My front door slammed and I jumped slightly as Avalon appeared with a suitcase and a bottle of vodka in the other. She paused and her demeanour disappeared as she looked at me.
She knew I was thinking about him.
I stared down at the open book on the table and the full glass of water sitting next to it. "Ri," She said softly as she abandoned her suitcase and placed the bottle on my kitchen counter. I shook my head and closed my eyes tightly as her arms encased me.
She leaned against the couch and pulled me in between my legs as I buried my face in her chest. "It's okay to cry honey," She cooed as her hands slowly ran through my hair.
The simple gesture reminded me of when he used to run his hands through my hair. I forced myself to hold in tears as I sniffled and lifted up my head.
My phone rang and Avalon instantly reached out to check my phone. I replaced the one I smashed and upgraded it for no reason. Her face hardened and she turned the phone to show me the caller id.
My heart sank as I saw his icon.
The ringtone rang through my house as I stared at the picture of us together. We were in his car and I'd fallen asleep...
My face crumpled at the memory and I broke down all over again.

"I didn't know you was into drive-in theatres." I said as he handed me my bag of food. "Well I had a feeling you'd like it. Y-You did like it...right?"
I turned my head to look out of the front of the car as he waited for my answer. We sat comfortably in the backseats and I nodded my head with a smile. "Yes, Giovanni. I loved it."
"Please. Call me Gio."
I narrowed my eyes playfully as I watched him. "You don't like it when I say your full name?" I asked as I took a long sip of my milkshake and his eyes watched my lips suck on the straw.
Shit.
I awkwardly moved my lips away from the straw and he cleared his throat and looked in my eyes. "I like it when you say my name."
He took the drink from me and took a long sip and I stared at him dumbfoundedly. I let out an unexpected yawn and frowned to myself as he smiled at me.
"You tired?"
"I didn't think I was but, yeah I guess I am..." I said, my voice filled with uncertainty. "We're a few hours out so you can just sleep if you want."
"I don't know if I wanna be asleep in your car." I teased as I glared at him and he reached into the boot and pulled out a blanket. "Ooo it's fluffy," I said with wide eyes as I instantly wrapped myself in it and he laughed.
I tried to position myself comfortably on my side of the backseat, but I ended up squirming around. He watched me, amused, as I failed miserably and huffed in annoyance.
"Come here."
He leaned against his seat and I shifted towards him awkwardly, still wrapped in the blanket. His arms pulled me gently to his chest and held me close. I smiled to myself as the comfort of his steady heartbeat and the soft blanket made me feel all fuzzy inside.
"Better?"
"Perfect" I sighed.
I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep. I was out for a while before my eyes opened suddenly as I felt his heartbeat increase. It started beating faster and I frowned, with a confused look on my face.
"Gio?"
"Riley?"
I shifted so I was looking up at him and he was already looking down at me. "Your heart is beating really fast. Are you okay?" My voice suddenly felt really quiet.
"It's all because of you." He whispered as he gazed down at me, his hands softly running through my hair.
As if on impulse, I sat up slightly so I could be closer to him and his hand rested on the side of my face. I instantly reacted and leaned into his touch.
My mind was clouded with wild thoughts and all I wanted was his hands on me. I felt my breathing become heavy as I tried to calm myself down.
We stared at each other, tension filling the car and I felt like I couldn't breathe. But I didn't want to. I wanted to only breathe him.
In one swift motion my legs were resting on either side of his and I gasped slightly as his hands gripped my waist and pulled me impossibly closer to him.
His eyes pleaded me to give him permission and I nodded slightly as his head moved towards me. The first kiss was on my collarbone.
I shivered slightly but his grip tightened as he held me steady and it only made me want him more. He kissed me again, and again, and again until his soft lips peppered the side of my neck.
I felt like I was on a high as his hands slowly ran up and down my back, my hands tangled in his hair, his lips lovingly pressing against me.
He stopped and stared back at me as my chest heavily rose and fell. His eyes scanned mine, for a sign of doubt. All I wanted was his lips on me again, but I didn't push.
"Say my name."
"Gio, I-"
I couldn't process the moment but I remember nothing but his lips on mine. The feeling of pure bliss and euphoria was too much for words.
The itch was finally scratched but I was left wanting more. I was hungry for more.
For him.
And it terrified me.
