< "I never have to turn around to watch you walk into a room. I can always feel you." >

"Hey Ava, I'll call you later okay? I'm at his house." I said in a rushed tome and she sighed on the other line. "Okay. I'll talk to you later." She mumbled.
"Oh wait. You have that big audition today right? I know I didn't mention it before I left but I wanted to wish you luck," I added before cutting the phone.
"You remembered?" She asked and I could tell it made her happy. "Of course, I did. Gio isn't my whole life," I defended.
Maybe he is...
"You don't have to lie to me," She retorted and I laughed awkwardly and dodged the comment.
"Anyways, I just wanted to wish you luck again, you'll do amazing, I love you, I gotta go." I said in a fast tone before ending the call and unlocking the door to his house.
There was no one home and I dropped the bag of random snacks I bought to keep in his house on the kitchen counter. I untied my hair and fluffed the sides, leaving in it a messy state before going back to reach for my phone.
I paused as my eyes landed on an envelope and I frowned in confusion. I reached towards it and there were pictures hidden underneath it. I curiously moved to see them and my eyes widened for a fraction of a second as I looked at the ultrasound pictures.
It felt like I was watching them forever. There wasn't really an emotion to describe it. I have always wanted children, like a lot, and I do love Gio but I never considered putting both those thoughts together.
Now that I'm thinking about it, the thought makes me really happy.
The door rattled before unlocking and a girl, who didn't look much older than me, walked in. She paused as she saw me and I raised my eyebrow momentarily as she stood awkwardly at the door.
"Who are you?" I asked her and she walked fully into the house before responding. "Amelia. Who are you?" She questioned and I couldn't hide how confused I was.
"I'm Riley," I said slowly and she formed an 'o' with her mouth as she moved away from the door and her eyes landed on the pictures in my hands. "These are mine, sorry." She muttered as she took the ultrasounds from me and moved to sit on the couch.
I awkwardly stood at the counter as I stared at her strangely, trying to put together who she could be.
As much as I wanted to stomach them, I couldn't help but think of the worst and it made me sick.
She radiated confidence and maturity and I kinda felt like a stupid child next to her. My growing anxiety, which was evident on my face, wasn't helping my case either.
Gio strolled in and froze as he saw me. "Oh, your girlfriend's here." Amelia said as she tapped away on her phone. I frowned as I looked at her and Gio stepped in front of me, blocking my vision of the random girl in my boyfriend's house.
"What's going on?" I asked him in a quiet tone and he scratched his head and he struggled to form words.
"Listen, I swear if you give me a chance, I can explain,"
No...
My face fell as it all clicked. "It's yours isn't it?" I whispered and I closed my eyes and mentally took very, very, deep breaths. I could hear him trying to get me to focus on him and he moved closer towards me. I felt my airways restricting with each step closer he took.
I re-opened my eyes and moved around him and towards the girl, despite his restraint to stop me.
"Is the baby his?" I asked her before roughly yanking my arm out of his grip. His arm returned around the front of my waist, pushing me towards his front. It was one of his small gestures that he does to me, it was pretty much instinct.
It was almost as if he thought I'd jump her once she admitted the truth.
She stared at me dumbfoundedly before her eyes flickered between me and him. "I-Is the baby his? Like yours and his? L-Like you guys had sex, and now you're pregnant with his child?" I repeated nervously as I waited for an answer.
My voice was shaky and I was obviously on the verge of a breakdown.
"It's not exactly rocket science but yeah."
"I think I'm gonna be sick." I said to myself as I turned around and grabbed my car keys and my phone.
"Hey, don't go, let's talk about this." He intervened as he tried to stop me but I blocked him out. I heard snippets of what he was saying but I wasn't focusing.
"Please don't go, Ri"
"Don't leave me!"
"It was a mistake, I love you!"
I was in complete shock that I couldn't register anything that was happening. It didn't fully sink in until I drove to my house and locked the front door behind me.
I didn't even make it to my room and I laid on the floor and let the tears come out.
