< "Our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers." >

"Riley! Over here!" Theo yelled frantically as he waved his arms around and I laughed to myself as I walked towards him and Genevieve.

"I could've seen you without the yelling and waving but hey," I laughed as I stepped into his arms for a hug before moving to hug Gen.

"You look happier. You and that guy with the curly hair looked like you were having fun," Gen teased and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion but I frowned.

"W-What no, he doesn't like me and he's a friend. And how the hell do you know that? " I questioned as I pointed to her and she pointed to Theo. "What'd you do?" I accused and he gave me a look of disbelief.

"Hey! I came to see you one day while you were working and you guys looked like you were having fun," He teased.

"What, so you told Gen?"

"I'm hurt you didn't tell me yourself." She grumbled.

"She's my girlfriend, who else was I gonna tell?" He shot back and I sighed.

"My internship is great and London is amazing, not that either of you were asking," I muttered and Theo laughed before swinging his arm over my shoulder and taking Gen by the hand.

"Stop complaining let's go see Avalon dance across the stage."

"She's a singer-" I corrected him and he shushed me.

"Don't be such a know-it-all Riley. Just cause you have a fancy new job in a fancy new city." He grumbled as we walked into the theatre.

"Over hereee!!!" Theo yelled to Avalon after she finished signing more autographs. The camera flashes were definitely giving me some sort of seizure but Ava seemed fine.

In fact, she seemed happy, in her element.

I looked to my best friend and smiled as she flicked her hair back and her face broke out in a wide grin.

"Ahh you guys are here! In New York! You came to see me!" She squealed as she ran towards me and opened her arms for a hug.

I hugged her tight and I frowned as I heard sniffling. I pulled away and she was crying. "Hey, hey," I soothed as I pushed her hair out of her face.

"What's going on? Riley what did you do now?" Theo interjected and I shushed him and focused on her. "What's wrong?" I asked her softly. "I-I'm sorry I shouldn't have left you," She mumbled and I remembered the last time I saw her.

We haven't seen each other since the fight at my house.

"Oh no, don't worry. It's okay, I'm okay, we're okay I promise," I assured her.

"Did you get what you wanted from him?" She asked and I nodded after a while.

"Yeah I did, I'm ready to let go of him for good." I mumbled and she smiled.

"I'm so proud of you Ri," she said before hugging me again and I smiled.
