< "You was once my whole world. And now, you're just...you." >

"He did what?!?"

Avalon vigorously spread the nutella across her bread as I weakly told her about Gio leaving me in the middle of nowhere in the rain. I avoided how we ended up there in the first place.

"Ava, you don't have to overreact. I'm okay-"

"Bullshit! You've been a mess since it happened!"

"It's been almost two weeks since it happened-"

"Why didn't you call me sooner?" She asked as she abandoned her snack entirely and joined my side.

"I didn't call you. You have a show in less than a month, you shouldn't even be here." I pointed out and she waved it off and I shook my head. "No, don't make it seem like it's nothing. You've been working your ass off for a show like this. He's been calling for a while now, and I haven't answered-"

"Cause you're too busy fading in and out of reality. Trying to relive your moments with him in the past isn't healthy, Ri."

I gave up arguing and rested my back against the sofa. "How long are you staying?" I mumbled as I stared into the distance.

"I'll stay for two weeks. I've already been fitted and we did dress rehearsals and stuff. I just gotta stay in shape and practise and I'll be good."

"You'll stay for me?" I asked her with a sad smile and she smiled back as she pulled me in for a hug. "I'm staying, so when he gives up calling and shows up at your door, I'll be here."

"He wouldn't do that," I scoffed as I hugged her back.

I moved around the last of the few boxes before I heard laughter from outside. The shop was strangely busy today so I couldn't hide out in the storage room for long.

I sighed and messily pushed my hair to the side. I stupidly left all my hair ties at home so I was stuck working with my hair in my face. I quickly finished up before heading out of the room.

"Hi, Randy, your bike is all fixed up. We replaced a few items because they were really damaged, and pumped the tires so you're good to go," I said in my most friendly voice and he smiled before thanking me and waving goodbye.

I dimissed the other customers and some new ones came in, leaving me with no time to sit down for a break, but I don't mind. I love working here.

I finally finished up and made my way over to the front counter. "Hard day at work, my love?" Avalon asked and I frowned at her as I reached over the main desk from the front. "What do you even do here again?" I shot back and she pouted.

"I'm the nice one, and you do the mechanic stuff. That's the system," She answered as she pointed to me and I grabbed the check book and flipped it open on the desk.

I jumped slightly as a pair of strong arms spun me around and I was staring at a broad chest.

"Fancy seeing you here," Gio smirked as he looked down at me. "You're only ever here for me," I shot back as he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on the crown of my head.

"Gross." Avalon interjected as I turned to look at her. She was typing away on her phone before she momentarily looked up at us. "I thought you was the nice one?" I questioned.

"I am."

"So be nice."

"Hi Giovanni. Great to see you," She said with a smile before going to do routine checks on the work I have to do later tonight.

"So are you free right now?" He asked as I looked up at him and I shrugged.

"Depends on where you wanna go," I responded as my hands slowly ran up and down his chest. He gently took my chin in his hand and placed a soft kiss on my lips.

"I just wanna be with you."

"I just wanna be alone right now." I sighed as she joined me on the couch. "No. You just wanna daydream about him all day," She corrected as she took the remote out of my hands.

"Is that a crime? This is how I deal okay?" I huffed in annoyance and she shook her head disapprovingly. "If this is how you are at home, I can only imagine what it's like when you daydream in public," She responded and I groaned loudly.

"Are you ready to talk about what happened between you guys? Cause I left for New York and you guys were all over each other,"

"You were gone for a year."

"A year flies by fast, Ri."

"It does. But a lot can happen in a year," I mumbled as I stared down at my fingertips.
