< "The purpose of our lives is to be happy." >

I slowly opened my eyes and stared at the people around me. "You okay?" Avalon asked softly and I nodded my head. "Wait, so you like daydream? About your relationship? And it helps?" Theo asked curiously and I shook my head.

"I don't think I need to do it anymore but yeah," I answered with a smile. I'm finally moving and I'm gonna start a new chapter in my life.

I don't need to rely on lost memories anymore because I'm not lost.

Gen looked at her phone and stood up. "Sorry, I have another training rehearsal in a bit and I'm gonna be late so I'm gonna go," She said as she immediately moved to hug me, tight. "Have a safe flight and Theo and I will probably come out in a few days to visit," She assured and Theo got up too.

"You guys have to come, I can't lift heavy stuff on my own," I giggled as Theo pulled me in for a hug after Gen. "Okay, be safe," He said softly and I smiled.

He lightly kissed my forehead before taking Gen's hand and leaving.

I looked to Avalon, who was looking back at me with a smile. "You look so much better. I'm glad," She said and I couldn't help but smile too. Sometimes I can be a lot to handle so I'm happy that she's here to help whenever I need it.

"What about you? Don't you have the show in like two days. You should already be on a flight back," I asked and she shrugged.

"Hey, stop worrying about my career. I'm already taking off. You're just starting out, so let me be here to help you get on your feet,"

I stood up from my chair and she stood in front of me and quickly adjusted my hair that went frizzy from lounging on the couch. "I-I know but-" I protested and she shushed me.

"No buts. Now, are we done here cause if you don't hurry up, you're gonna miss your flight?"

"Yeah, I'll make it in time I just need to go somewhere. I-I can just meet you there." I said quickly and she stopped me as she eyed me weirdly.

"Okay, the staring is kinda making me uncomfortable," I laughed awkwardly as I pushed my hair out of my face and moved to the door.

"You're going to see him," She said as it dawned on her and I sighed heavily.

"Okay, and?"

She scoffed in disbelief. "Oh come on Riley, are you being serious right now? You wanna go see him, like right now?" She questioned and I raised my eyebrow. "I don't see why I can't go." I defended and she shook her head firmly.

"No. I'm not doing this with you right now. You're not going."

"Like hell I am. You're not gonna stop me," I said as I moved to my door and she stood in front it. "You're really gonna stop me," I said slowly and she crossed her arms. "Wait let me guess, then you're gonna skip down to the bar to pay a visit to your pal Nolan? The guy who stalked you?" She asked and I sighed.

"Avalon. Move out of the way or so help me I'll jump out the window." I threatened and she wasn't convinced.

"Stop trying to reminisce something that is over. You and Giovanni are not together anymore-"

"Believe me I know that!" I yelled and she fell silent. I can't believe this is an argument that we're having right now. "Then why are you trying to go? What do you plan to gain from going to see him again?"

"I don't know okay?! I-I just thought that-" I stuttered and stopped myself when I saw this going nowhere.

"Okay screw this, I'm not doing this with you anymore. Get the hell out of my way." I ordered and she didn't falter.

"Help me understand why you're so willing to go and see him when you should be running as far as you can in the other direction" She reasoned but I was too annoyed to
have a normal conversation with her.

"What we had was real! We loved each other, it was just the wrong time. I'm not gonna go and make him see that but I should be allowed to see him one more time-"

"Okay but if it was different, do you honestly think he would have treated you better?"

"Yes he would! He cared about me! And loved me when no one would!"

"But I always have-"

"Nobody cared for me! I was all alone and I had to figure out my own life. You was off fulfilling your dreams! I dropped out of medical school! I had no future, no family, no plans and he still loved me!"

"What are you talking about?! Where the hell is this coming from Ri?" She asked as I sighed heavily as I ran my hands through my hair.

"I don't care if he hurt me, I don't care if we're not together, I don't care if he'd rather have the life we created with another girl!"

"Riley-" She said in a defeated tone and I shook my head.

"No. He needs to know I'm leaving. He needs to know that I'm moving on without him and that I will be okay without him. I-If he doesn't know, then there was no point in me suffering for that long,"

My hands fell to my sides as my chest heavily rose and fell. She doesn't understand. She'll probably never understand and I don't blame her.

No one ever understands why you do the things you do for love.

"Okay fine, I give up trying to shield you from this. Go see him if you want," She muttered as she moved away from the door and opened it for herself.

"But for your own good, I hope you get out of this town."

She gave me one last look before turning around and leaving the house.
