Smut warning🥸❤️

"So when can I meet your children?" I ask walking further into the water causing our arms to extend as we keep hold onto each other's hands.

"For God's sake Lenora, I already told you I don't have any children!" he rolls his eyes.

"Are you sure though? Because I feel like at your age—" I let out a yelp as I trip over my own foot and begin falling towards the knee high water. I am stopped as Wilkes grabs both of my hands. My body is stiff as a board, lent back and is now hovering over the water. "So no grandkids?" I joke. He releases my hands at my comment, allowing me to fall and completely submerge into the cold water as he rolls his eyes.

"Holy fuck!" I yell, coming up for air. I wipe the water from my eyes, thankful that I wore waterproof mascara. "You're such an ass!" I exclaim as he continues to laugh. I stand from the water, nearing him. I jump up into his arms wrapping my legs around his torso allowing all the water on me to soak him as well.

"Lenora!" He argues still holding me to keep me from falling. I rub my cheek against the sides of his face, wetting him, then continue to tilt my head down and shake my head. The water from my hair splashes all over him.

"You're absolutely daft." He raises a brow at me attempting to hold back a smile. I wrap my arms around his neck, holding him against me and begin smiling down at him as he's holding me higher than usual. I lean my head down slowly nearing his lips. I feel his brush against mine.

"I think I really like you, Lenora." He whispers softly before our lips meet. I pull away instantly.

"What?"

"I'm sor—" I get down and pull away from his hold.

"Wilhelm, this can't be a thing. You know that. I told you that."

"Yes but you also told me that you liked me. How is this any different?" He argues back.

"Because I thought you were asleep! You weren't supposed to hear it!"

"But I did! And I didn't get angry with you for it!"

"This is insane." I scoff at him running my fingers through my wet hair. "I shouldn't have come. This was a mistake." I turn to walk away.

"Lenora— what are you doing?" He runs in front of me blocking my way.

"I can't do this! Not with you. I never wanted another relationship."

"With me? Look— No one said this was a relationship. You made it more than it had to be. You're being dramatic."

"Yes 'with you'. I'm not being dramatic! It's always just one thing. That simple one thing, but one thing always leads to the next and I just can't—"

"You 'can't' what? Huh? You keep saying you can't do this and you can't do that, but what is it really Lenora? Is it me? Truly? Or are you just afraid? Because what you can't do is you can't keep running from your feelings." He's now holding my face forcing me to look up at him. The tears that built up in my eyes begin falling.

"I can't be hurt. Not by you. Of all people... being hurt by you would be the worst. It would break me." I continue crying. He pulls my face up and presses my lips against his. After a moment I push him away.

"I have to go." I feel his grip wrap around my wrist, gently pulling me back.

"No. You're not going to leave like this. With tears in your eyes. You're not going to keep running away because you're afraid. I get it, Lenora. Okay? I do and it's okay. It's okay to be afraid, but you don't allow the fear to consume you. You don't allow it to prevent you to where you need to go or do. You don't allow it to keep you from where you belong."
