Luffy x Reader. You can do it!

"Oh God, Oh God...."

You panicked, heart beating a drum roll as you mixed the ingredients for your cupcakes together.

Sanji had overheard you talking about how awful you were at cooking, and couldn't help but convince you to take a small test to see how good or bad a chef you were.

Of course, you were a nervous wreck. No matter how hard you tried to bake and cook, you always seemed to make some new poison; as opposed to a some form of edible substance.

Sanji watched, (admired) you as you worked, hands trembling as you scooped the thick, chocolate mix into the petite, cupcake cases.

Sweat was gathering on your forehead, and you wiped it away with the back of your hand. Effectively wiping flour all over your flushed face. You quickly shoved the cupcakes in the oven, trying hard to ignore the pleas of your captain beside you. Asking if he could lick the mixture from the bowl.

Once they were in and baking, you sighed, and washed your hands. Sanji left temporarily to see if his beloved Nami and Robin were in need of anything. Leaving you and a whining Luffy alone in the kitchen.

"Luffy! If you shut up, maybe I'll give you a cupcake when they're done..."

You growl, beginning to grow frustrated with his behaviour.

"Well...if it doesn't kill Sanji first..."

You mutter. Luffy either didn't hear or chose to ignore your last statement; jumping for joy as he whooped and hollered beside you.

You sighed heavily, rubbing the back of your neck as nerves shook you. Sanji was such an amazing cook, there was no chance he'd like any slop you'd make. Or so you thought.

"Oi, (y/n). Sup?"

Luffy chirped beside you, hopping up on the counter. You glanced at him and slumped slightly, eyes trained on the cupcakes slowly rising in the oven.

"I can't cook for shit Luffy, no way Sanji will approve of these..."

Silence.

You glanced at Luffy who's gaze seemed fixates on you. Suddenly, he grinned and hopped down, whispering in your ear just before Sanji returned;

"If they're good, I'll reward you..."

A lump lodged in your throat as Sanji called in and told you, you could take the cupcakes from the oven.

"You can do it, (y/n)!" Luffy called, his playful demeanour back in place.

The chocolate cupcakes were now cool enough to eat, and Sanji gently picked one up from the cooling wrack and smelled it. A small smile tugged at his lips.

"They smell wonderful (y/n)-chan."

Your heart thumped hard in your chest as Sanji raised the food to his mouth and took a bite. Even Luffy watched quietly as Sanji stoicly ate, not showing any emotion as he chewed. Suddenly, hearts filled his eyes as he fell to the ground.

"THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL!!"

He cried out, and your eyes widened. He leaped up, grabbed the tray, and declared he was going to share your 'wonderful creations' with the crew. Luffy quickly snatched one as he left the room.

With one bite, the cupcake was gone. The same affect was almost given on Luffy, too.

"I DUNNO WHY YOU WERE SO NERVOUS,(Y/N)! THIS IS AWESOME!"

You giggled happily, watching the boy become starry eyed with joy.

However, that playful happiness was gone quite quickly.

Luffy smirked triumphantly, as he slowly made his way over to you. Rubber hands settled on your waist and your heart, once again, began to pound rapidly. He leaned down daringly, chocolate scented breath ghosting over your face.

"Now, time for your reward."

Without any further hesitation, his lips were on yours. And you were surprised to realise that the lingering taste of chocolate upon his lips, was extremely pleasant. A few minutes later, and Luffy broke away with a grin. He rested his forehead on yours, making you giggle gently and blush slightly.

"See, (y/n)?"

He breathed against you, a small, triumphant grin tugging at his features.

"I told you, you could do it."
