It wasn't a nice day that greeted you when you peered curiously outside your apartment's window, that was for certain.

Grey clouds, dark to the point of being near black saturated the sky with their gloominess; crying crystalline tears in the form of a hard rain. A brisk chill filtered in through the small crack of the open window, which you quickly closed to keep out the cold.

In all honesty, you liked the rain. Perhaps not being outside in it, but listening to it pelt against the concrete of the empty roads was quite therapeutic. Not to mention that weirdly nice rain smell.

A soft padding of calculated footing shook you from your thoughts, and you smiled up at the man who's height dwarfed your own. His hair was messy, unkempt. Light circles ringed his eyes-- you were sure they were forever imprinted on his soft skin, no matter how much sleep he got.

Grey eyes smouldered behind the steam of the black coffee in his hand, chest bare, wearing nothing more than the cotton black pants he slept in.

As the dull, morning light kissed his features, you couldn't help but admire how he suited the scenery.

Yes, Trafalgar Law was the embodiment of rainy mornings, and grey skies. And you absolutely loved it.

"You're staring again," he hummed without much thought, looking down at you with a little cocky smile which made you flush.

So what if you had a tendency to stare at your boyfriend? Who wouldn't for crying out loud, he was gorgeous.

"Yeah, I know," you breathed, "you just suit this kind of weather, you know?"

"Are you calling me dull?"

"What?! No!!"

He chuckled softly, and there was a silence as you huffed and sulked at Law's teasing. He continued to look out the window, taking measured sips of his coffee. Until you spoke again, eventually.

"Your eyes... Your face, your entire personality, really... It's beautifully tragic," he looked at you, "from what you've told me about yourself, and where you came from. Your life... It has been sad, but it had made someone lovely."

It was his turn to stay in silence over your words. You didn't stop there.

"The rain is the same. People don't like it because it makes everything  sad, and dull. But the rain can make beautiful things, y'know? Combined with a little sun, you get a rainbow!"

You looked up into his curious eyes and flushed again, realising how quite childish your analogy was. You murmured and whined beneath your breath, grumbling at how, for once, you wished you could say something that didn't end up being completely juvenile in point.

"Well then,"

You blinked, and looked up at him.

"If I need sun to make a rainbow," he stooped to kiss your head, "stick around for a while, will you, sunshine?"

It took a brief moment of a scrambled brain before the cogs clicked and turned, and you smiled a coy expression of joy.

"Of course."

He smiled back at you and loosely threaded a long arm around your middle, pulling you to his side as you both stood content to watch the rain pour.

Overhead, the sun began to peak out from their hiding place behind the clouds.
