Oka, this was requested by... Well, you know who you are! Hope you enjoy, guys! Bring in the Emperor!

The ship rocked slowly as the dark, crashing waves pushed the vessel along the water. Lightening lit up the sky in sudden streaks, rain pouring from the sky like bullets. Hitting the deck with a ferocity that made the droplets bounce back off again.

Everyone was held up inside, nobody on watch. Yes, while having someone stationed in the crows nest at all times was a necessity, Shanks didn't care. His crew were important to him, and he wasn't leaving a single soul outside in that storm.

He had aloud a certain (h/c) haired girl to convince him of it once, and now she was bed ridden with a high fever. Her nose was pink, her eye lids droopy.

Yasopp had spent a good twenty minutes convincing his captain to leave the poor girls bedside, and come get something to eat. And had it not been for said girl waking up during the conversation and weakly convincing the red head to eat, he probably wouldn't have left her.

The table was unusually quiet. Shanks' happy demeanour tended to be the reason for the usual perky conversations. But as the crew watched him poke and prod his food silently, nobody decided to pipe up. They knew better than to disturb their captain during these rare occasions.

A weak and raspy cough from the door caught their attention. Shanks found his head snapping up as (y/n) stood in the door way, holding a thick duvet to her weak form.

"(Y/n), sweet heart, what are you doing up, get back to bed."

Shanks stated, abruptly standing up and running over. He placed a hand on her forehead.

Better than before, but still, she needs to rest.

"Come on, doll. Bed time."

Shanks declared, looping his arm around her waist and turned to guide her back to her room.

"N-no...Sh-Shanks. I'm h-hungry and I-I wanna see the guys."

She mumbled, looking up at him with big, (e/c) doe eyes. He sighed and frowned.

"Ok, but only for a little while. Then it's back to bed."

She giggled, coughed, and nodded. He guided her into the galley, where the crew watched as he sat her in his lap, and aloud her to eat from his fork.

After a while, the girl let out a sleepy yawn, stretched and rubbed her eyes. Shanks smiles softly, and stood up. Making her sit on his forearm, his one arm gripping at her thigh to keep her steady.

He carried her back to her room. Usually, they would sleep together. But Shanks didn't want to wake the girl when he came to bed late, or tossed and turned in his sleep.

Setting her down, he took her blanket and tucked her in. Kissing her forehead as she slowly drifted back to sleep.

"Sweet dreams, Angel."

He muttered against her forehead, before turning to leave her once more, and head back to the galley.

He took a seat again, and looked up as the rest of his crew smiled at him. He raised an eyebrow.

"What is it, fellas?"

He asks with a small smile. A small snippet of his usual demeanour back in place.

"You really love her, huh boss? Never seen this side of you before."

Benn states more than he asks.

"I think the lass has pulled him a bit more down to earth."

Lucky-roo chimes, biting into a chunk of meat.

"Between him and that kid, Luffy...They've done a number on him."

Yasopp grins, eyes cast up in thought as he thinks of the raven haired boy they had met all those years ago. The table begins to buzz with conversation of the captain, before and after meeting his beloved and the kid.

Shanks simply chuckles and looks down, a soft smile claiming his lips.

He decided not to argue with his crew.

Why would he?

After all...they were right.
