The next day, Wooyoung finally decided to go back to the diner he worked at, after a week of calling in sick. He didn't do this often, so they believed him easily. But he wasn't really wrong, as he was feeling under the weather after the break up. He wasn't his usual happy self, instead he was swallowed in his own self pity and insecurities that he didn't see the signs trying to help him out, instead ignoring them and following a piece of his broken heart; a wrong piece of his broken heart.
Pushing that aside, he had made his way to the diner, albeit sluggishly, but he made it regardless. Walking in, he put his stuff in his designated place, before he wore the black apron on his lower half, and walking out behind the counter. Along the way, he was met with his coworkers whom he could consider calling his friends? Nonetheless, it was obvious they had some opinions on his new look.
"Woah, woah, woah. Almost didn't know you," snickered a fluffy haired male.
"Ha ha ha, very funny, Tae." Wooyoung fake laughed at the taller male, who just shrugged, and bumped his shoulder with Wooyoung's playfully. He boxy smile always managed to make Wooyoung feel welcomed, so his previous attitude vanished the second he spot the infamous smile.
"Woo?" A female voice sounded from behind them. "It's been so long since we've seen you, your roots grew out!"
"Ugh, what's with the jokes about my hair!" Wooyoung whined loudly, before the soft voice from before came over to embrace him. Wooyoung sighed into the hug, "hi, Ryu." He ruffled her hair with a smile, knowing very well that she hated when people do that. She pulled away with a face Wooyoung couldn't help but laugh at. "Sorry, you make it so easy to tease you~"
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes, flipped her short blonde hair for extra measure, before strutting back to collect an order.
Wooyoung laughed at her antics, before he was tackled in another hug; this time from behind. "Am I dreaming? Wooyoungie came back?!"
"Stop being so dramatic, Yeonjun. It's not like I moved away or anything. I was only gone for a week."
"A week too long for a fragile heart like mine," Yeonjun said, dramatically holding onto the wrong side of where his heart would be.
"Other side, dumbass." Taehyung remarked from beside Wooyoung, making Yeonjun smile sheepishly, before even more dramatically do the same action but to his left side; this time acting like he was stabbed.
Wooyoung cringed, and smacked the older's arm, before attempting at walking away. "Remind me why I'm friends with an idiot."
Yeonjun stopped him by wrapping his arms tightly around Wooyoung's waist, "because you love me." He said that really near to his earlobe, making Wooyoung shiver slightly.
"Your boyfriend wouldn't like that talk," Wooyoung said, as he managed to get out of his grip.
He saw the taller pout, "hey! Don't talk about Soobinie. I miss him!" He stomped his foot like a child in the remembrance of his beloved.
"He walked you to the diner this morning!" Another female retorted while piling an array of trays on the counter, before she turned to face the males. "Hi, Woo! Nice hair, by the way."
"Thanks Yeji, I like the pink." Wooyoung said, pointing at the new hair she was rocking, with a pink streak on one side of her hair.
"Thanks," she smiled, and walked up to grab something behind Wooyoung, but he assumed she was coming in for a hug, so he opened his arms, to end up closing them so quickly when he saw her real intentions. Wanting to scurry away in embarrassment, that only heightened when he heard her laugh. "Aw, I didn't know Wooyoungie hyung wanted hugs from any other female that wasn't Jiho," she said fake mockingly.
Wooyoung cringed at that statement, but hugged Yeji back when she approached him again. They pulled away shortly after, Yeji smiling up at him, with him looking down slightly embarrassed. "Um, actually. Me and Jiho broke up."
"What?!" All the familiar faces displayed shocked faces, but Yeonjun's reaction was the loudest. "You what?! Why? You guys were in love?! If there was any other couple between us that was more in love between all of us — other than mine, obviously — it would be yours!" Yeonjun exclaimed loudly, before the other waiters shushed him. "Sorry," he grimaced.
Wooyoung sighed, "well, things don't work out, I guess." He shrugged, trying to move past them to get to work.
"Lies! As much as I like to not agree with Yeonjun about the most 'in love' couple, he's right! You and Jiho were perfect. You said it yourself, you're in it for the long run." Taehyung said exasperatedly.
"We didn't have a choice. Now, can we move on from this?" Wooyoung said, clearly distressed, making everyone stop talking about this topic immediately. "TaeTae," trying to change the topic, he quirked a amused brow upwards. "As you said, since you'd like to disagree with Yeonjunnie so much. How's your relationship right now, or rather who are you in a relationship with right now?" The others snickered in the back while trying their best to continue working, and cleaning up, at the unexpected question, since the mood was just down seconds prior.
"Um, well-" He started, but got interrupted quickly.
"Honestly, we don't know. Everyday with someone new. Like yesterday, he got this hot costumer's number, Ji-Jinim- was it?"
"Jimin," Taehyung corrected.
"Ah, yes. Jimin. Then today, a CEO came and dropped him off, seeming that they had a good time yesterday. I believe his name was Jin? Right?" Taehyung nodded shamefully. "And of course! The infamous boyfriend Jeon Jungkook. What happened between you two?"
"W-we still t-talk..." His voice trailed off at the end, but everyone wanted to know more, as they looked at him eagerly, so he had no choice but to continue. "We agreed that seeing other people was fine, him and the CEO have a past, so it's no problem with Jungkookie or Jin. I'm only worried Chim won't feel the same." He pouted, and looked down, making everyone coo at him.
"Taehyungie hyung, it's nothing to be embarrassed about if you both agreed to seeing other people. It's okay, we're not disappointed like you think we would be," all of them smiled at him, as he looked up at them, before his attention got taken away.
"Oh my gosh! Hot daddy at aisle 8! Make way," Taehyung announced, as he saw a big, buff, dimpled man waiting for someone to take his order.
They all sighed and shook their head at the boys attitude before they shook it off and got back to work. "He'll never learn, will he?" Yeonjun said from under his breath, but Wooyoung caught it. It reminded him of Yeosang, and what he would say about him. That made him chuckle, and slightly miss the blond male, but he knew that Yeosang wasn't too far, as he worked at the café right next to his diner, so he could always visit him during his break, or vice versa. However, he knew the male wouldn't be there today, as he had to go help his mom with her moving, and had to wave her goodbye soon.
Putting all thoughts away, he went to the first table to get their order, ready to have a good day.
