Wooyoung sat there nervous in his seat. He has been waiting patiently here that his leg cant help but bounce in anticipation. He eyes the clock every few minutes, it feels like time is stuck. He thinks about leaving, but realizes it hasn't even been a while since he's sat. Just as he was about to get up, a tall figure starts making its way to his tall. He eyes him respectfully, seeing how he swooped his hair to the side, a tuxedo snuggly wrapped around his built body, watch glistening under the dim lights of the restaurant. He watches with wonder how someone could walk in with so much aura, so much confidence, so much ease. Wooyoung almost feels jealous.
The man stops at his table, smile broad against his face as he speaks, like honey dripping from his lips, "Jung Wooyoung?"
Wooyoung looks up at him with a smile of his own, "yes, Lee Dohyun?"
The man smiled, pleased, "yes." He took the liberty of sitting in front of him, clearing his throat as he says, "hope I haven't kept you waiting long."
Wooyoung pulls a smile, easing the other man's doubt, "not at all. I only came in here a few minutes ago," he lied. He has actually been here much longer than that, as he was terrified of trying the whole dating scene again. It's been months since he's been on a date, and years since he's had a partner. He rids himself of all the doubt clouding his head, he made a promise to himself that he'd give this a fair shot.
The two fall into the natural rhythm of conversation, Dohyun asking the necessary questions, keeping Wooyoung engaged. Wooyoung remembers laughing at some of his silly jokes, a shy smile adorned on the pretty man's face. He forgot how nice it felt to be on a date, so carefree, so new, so eager. As the waitress passed by, he couldn't help but overhear her conversation with her peer. "Did you see that new magazine cover Choi San did? Daddy alert!" She singsonged to seal the deal.
The name caught Wooyoung by surprise, having not heard from the man in so long. A fond smile found its way to his lips as recalled some of his moments with the older, many of them bright with some dampening his mood completely. His mind gets triggered with the vivid memory of one of their trips, a couple months before they broke up.
They were in Japan, Wooyoung wishing to check that off his bucket list, when Wooyoung stood on the terrace watching the streets glow even though it was way past midnight. The breeze was nice, playing with his hair as he was covered simply in a flannel and black sweatpants. The sliding door behind him opened, but he paid it no mind, only when arms wrapped around his waist, a chin on his shoulder did he sigh and fall into the comfort of San's arms.
They fall silent for a moment, San in nothing but a white robe, while they watched the bustling streets of Tokyo from their place up in the hotel. Few seconds pass, and San hears Wooyoung sigh again as he snuggled further into him, "cold?"
"No, just..." he didn't continue, and San didn't press.
It was when Wooyoung shivered under San's kiss that he perked up, "you okay, Woo?" The younger didnt answer, so San turned him around in his arms, lifting his head up with his index, "penny for your thoughts?" He tilted his head cutely.
Wooyoung barely smiled, the tips of his lips tugging up tiredly as he stared at San, "I'm just tired, I guess..." San can tell there was something Wooyoung was keeping from him, but pushed it aside when Wooyoung fell into his arms, hugging him tightly. He wanted to speak up, but the younger pulled away, leaving a gentle kiss on his cheek, saying, "let's go to bed?"
"Yeah," San whispered. "You go ahead, I'll be right behind you."
The younger nodded, pecking San's lips once before separating his arms from the older's torso, walking in and settling into bed. San stayed out a moment longer, contemplating the situation, it was obvious something was off, but how could he fix it?
Turns out he couldn't, and thats why they ended up here, Wooyoung on a date with a stranger, and San popping off on his own business branding. Wooyoung was proud that San managed to get out of his father's company and build his own, he was there the many nights where San worked tirelessly to help make that a reality. So, even though it happened after they split, a fond smile still tugged at Wooyoung's lips as he allowed the pride to shoot through his entire body.
A call to his name cut him out of his memories, now evidently clear where he still was and what he was just reminiscing about. "Wooyoung? Are you with me? I feel I lost you there for a second."
"Huh? Oh, sorry, go on, I must've got distracted there."
"Are you sure you're okay? I can take you home if you'd like?" Dohyun urged.
"No, Dohyunie. I'm perfectly fine. I'm with you, please continue." Dohyun smiled, going back into his story as Wooyoung listened intently.
I'm fully and utterly with you.
