It's been a week since that conversation with Seyoung, and to be frank, Wooyoung has noticed the younger growing more impatient with his hesitance, but kept quiet. He was planning on speaking to him soon, yet when exactly soon was, he wasn't sure. Today was Saturday, meaning he was off from work for the night, so he found himself walking around the familiar street of Hyunjin's barber shop, in hopes to find the younger inside.
He wanted to go out with Yeosang or Seonghwa and Hongjoong, but the couple were out enjoying Hongjoong's day off, and Yeosang planned an impromptu Europe trip to get his mind in check again, as he was near spiraling into insanity the past few months. Wooyoung felt bad for his best friend going through it, but was happy knowing Yeosang was probably now frolicking in the sandy beaches of Greece right about now.
He made his way to the barber shop without further thought, and peeked inside, only to find Chan laughing with a customer he seemed to recognize but not recall where he knew him. The door jingled as Wooyoung walked in, and Chan turned to see Wooyoung step inside. "Wooyoung? Long time no see! Here for a haircut?"
Wooyoung shook his head no, "no, not really. I'm liking the long hair for now, I think. Um, where is Hyunjin?"
"Oh, Jinnie just left, his shift ended an hour ago, but he stayed to tease me a bit before I finally kicked him out. He should be on his way to his boyfriends though. Did you need anything?" The older perked.
"Ah, no. I was just hoping I would catch him so we could go out or something. All my friends, and even coworkers for that matter, are busy, so I was just wondering if he'd be... whatever I'm rambling. Guess I'll just go to some bar or I don't know. I'll be out of your hair in a second," he joked, Chan catching on quickly.
"You can stay if you'd like—"
"You seem busy," Wooyoung says cheekily as he noticed the blush rise on the customer's face and Chan looked around hurriedly.
"Oh, Seungminnie? No, it's okay—"
"Seriously, hyung. It's okay, have fun you two!" He smiled as he walked out leaving both boys a blushing mess.
He hated to think about it, but his mind drifted to San at that moment. How was the other doing? What was he doing right now? Was he drinking out or—
"Wooyoung?"
Wooyoung looked up at the voice that cut off his train of thought. He was surprised to see who was in front of him, but quickly ran to him in surprise.
"Mingi? It's been a while, how are you?" Wooyoung started.
"Yeah, man. I haven't seen you since the wedding!" Mingi seemed to cringe at his own words, "bad timing?"
Wooyoung shook his head, "don't worry about it. Anyways, why are you here?"
"Oh, I was just at the convenient store down the road to get Yunho some food," he said sheepishly.
Wooyoung nodded, "how is he, by the way?"
"He's doing well, you know, still feeling bad over the whole situation that happened with Yeosang a while back." Wooyoung nodded, knowing that the reason Yeosang was spiraling was due to his ex boyfriend Yunho and his new lover Mingi. Yunho didn't mean to hurt Yeosang, but it was very obvious that he was so in love with Mingi. The three of them stumbled upon each other a couple weeks after the wedding at a bar, and that's when everything happened. Yeosang crashing out over his lost love, Mingi's drunken confession, spoiling the fact that he was going to propose to the older, and Yunho's soft sweet touches left on Mingi's skin for Yeosang to see. It was a night he hated to remember, cradling the broken pieces of Yeosang's heart in his shaking hands.
"Well, anyways, it was nice seeing you around! You should go back to your fiancé then!" He spotted the ring nestled on Mingi's finger and supposed he had finally popped the question, and with the soft pink tint adorned on Mingi's face, he knew he was right.
As Wooyoung was about to continue on his way, Mingi hesitated to speak, but eventually his voice was heard. "Wooyoung... I hate to bring this up but... San needs you right now."
"What do you mean?" Mingi sighs.
"San, he's... well he's not doing so well. I don't think I've seen him sober in a week, and he says it's because he hasn't seen you. He says you hate him..."
"San is always like that, though? Getting drunk and saying shit. He doesn't know how to act when something doesn't go his way," Wooyoung bites back.
Mingi shivers slightly at the breeze that brushes past them. "Look, I'm not telling you you're forced to talk to him or anything, but just hear him out? You don't even need to say anything. It's just... San's different with you. I've known him basically my whole life and he's never been this hungover over someone before. He really does care for you, he stopped seeing other people the day you walked into his life, well save for his wife at the time. I know what happened between you two was wrong and you're trying to correct your faults, but shunning him out and letting him fend for himself after he's fallen for you is cruel, and isn't like you. I may not have known you for long, but what I did gather from our conversations before was that you have the purest heart and this... I don't know, I just didn't see it coming from you..."
Wooyoung said nothing, and Mingi just looked at him for a bit longer before he turned around to walk away, not before whispering, "just think about it, Woo. I know you'll make the right choice."
When he was alone, Wooyoung cursed under his breath. "Fuck, guess I got somewhere to go now!" He started walking, destination in mind, mission in place.
