"Kookie?"
Maya nudged the smiling man. Driven by his success. The success he worked hard for. What did he lack in life? He was happy. His passion building inside of him. Heart full of warmth.
"Yeah, Angel?"
"Gguk, do you think this decision is right? I mean, the kpop stans don't always like the news of their most favourite idol dating."
Jungkook ruffled her soft hair. Kissing the top of her head, inhaling her warm scent.
"Do you love me?"
"That's why I don't want to come between you and your career. You're doing great. But there are some toxic haters who would hate on you. And I don't want that. Your music is blasted on every speaker. You guys are at the top. Every eye is on your group. Every mistake you make, no matter how small they are, they'll drag you. They don't have anything better to do. Besides, you are such an handsome idol. An ideal type of man. Look at me. I don't have a thigh gap or long legs. Neither my body type nor skin type is considered beautiful to people around me. My eyes aren't symmetrical. My lips are way too plump. I'm overweight and honestly I don't deserve you. Someone like Lisa Unnie or Tzuyu or..."
She couldn't finish her words. Jungkook's lips came crashing on hers. His hands arpund her waist. What was intended to be a small peck turned into a makeout session. Jungkook lifted her up in his lap, his fingers slowly going through her hair. Maya completely melted in his arms.
"You are beautiful my love. You don't need to fit their standards. You are your own standard. Your honey tan skin, makes me want to sink my teeth deep into it and mark me yours. Your eyes, makes me forget my everything and stare at them for hours. Your lips, wish I could kiss you forever. The asymmetry in your beautifully sculpted face I believe is the best fo both worlds. Both hell and heaven. I don't care about long legs anymore, just promise to walk with me forever. What does a thigh gap even do? Nothing. You rock every fashion item. Skinny jeans, wide legged pants, skirts. Anything. I don't know if my words help or not. But I still want you to know, I love you. I love you a lot. You are amazing Maya. I don't care what others say. My fans would support us. But haters gonna hate. I'd choose you over my career anyday."
Maya looked at him. He was so dreamy. His eyes held nothing but her reflection. Why was he so easy to believe?

The kaleidoscope went off again. The colours mismatched against each other. A bitter feeling rising up his throat. What was the truth there, is the biggest lie they heard here.

Tiny pearls of sweat on his smooth forehead. He sprung up. Catching his breath. Why was that Jeon Jungkook lying. Ofcourse he loves Maya. But what about his success?
Maya on the other side of the screen, woke up with a warmth in her heart. He loves her more than anything.
"Love?"
Maya's husky morning voice. That my friend was what made Jungkook miss a heartbeat. Jungkook hummed,
"Yeah Maya?"
Maya furrowed her brows. Something was definitely off. Jungkook never calls her by her name unless he's mad, worried, sad or it's something important.
"Ggukie, are you not feeling yourself? Tell me, did it hurt today? Does your head feel heavy?"
No. Jungkook stopped himself. If not the pain, then why was his heart sinking down? What was happening to him. He loves her. HE LOVES HER A LOT. But that means she needs to know. He can't hide stuff from her.
"Yes. My head just feels a bit heavy."
He clicked his tongue. Careful enough, so that she doesn't see the liar in him.
Maya felt her shoulders slump a bit. Bummer. She thought of seeing the sunrise with him. Like she once did with TokkiKookie. Her lips pulled in a comforting smile,
"It's okay. Do you want to cut the call and maybe sleep a bit?"
Maya terribly wanted to hear a no. Would it be too much to ask for?

"I'm sorry Angel."
Jungkook sighed. Sipping on coffee. He wasn't in the least bit of pain or discomfort. Guilt evident in his veins. He could see she was hurt. He didn't want to do that. But his heart felt heavy. How the other Jungkook had all the success, yet he could just let go of all of them for Maya. Look at him. He didn't even have half of the things that Jeon Jungkook had. He felt as if he was lying. So what it was the ither realm? So what it wasn't possibly him?
But again, it wasn't their fault. They were juggling between two worlds. He was just messed up.
She had her hopes so high up. How could he just throw all the sweet moments she thought about under the bus? Shouldn't he hav esome time to himself? Isn't it alright to turn down something if you aren't feeling it?
His phone beeped. Once. Twice. Till he lost count of it completely. His eyes wandered away from the scenery outside, towards his phone.

He felt a sappy liquid run down his spine. His feet and hands felt a tiny urge to ball up. Wasn't MySunshine a bit too cheesy? Maybe not.

Heyya Hwangjanim! Since you are asleep and I know how much of a deep sleeper you are. I didn't want you to miss the sunrise.

"He saw it?"
Maya mumbled. Her lips curving into a smile. Head bombarded with thoughts, did she wake him up? Her smile slowly disappearing. But Jungkook was always the shooting star she wished on.

"Angel?"
Maya's posture straightened, his voice acting like an anecdote.
"Kookie?"
It was silence. Maya's voice sinking deep in his soul. As if healing his wounds. Should he just spill? Would she get hurt? Would she misunderstand? Maybe she would. But wouldn't he be able to convince her with his love? He loves her, right?
