"hey, I got ice cream, everyone." ringed in yujin's ears as a lady was handing out ice cream to all the kids who were playing in the playground. watching the kids have fun with others and befriending each other reminded her of something she never go to do.
sitting quietly by the by the bench, a young boy by the name kang cheol sat awaiting his older sister to come by today. which exactly what they were doing. kang sae-byeok reached her hand up for the little boy to shake.
"who are you?" he asked nicely but yet still so quiet. his eyes filled with wonder just like his older sister, something the both had alike. "I am your sister's friend." sae-byeok quickly looked up at her with surprise in her eyes.
"ah, at least you've made friends noona." he kept his head down while sae-byeok tried to get him to speak. "hey, are you alright little guy?" yujin questioned him.
"what? no ice cream for you, little man?" sae-byeok questioned, cheol favorite thing to eat was always ice cream.
"how did you get your face like that?" they both asked looking at each other than at the little boy.
"did you get into a fight?" after getting ignored for the second time she looked down at him, "if you're not gonna talk to me, I guess we'll just go."
After sae-byeok stood up cheol spoke up, "wait. I don't wanna stay here, okay?"
"where's mom? you said she would come soon. you told me that we'd be together that I just had to wait a month." tears coming from the little boy eyes made yujin look at him in sadness. she wished she could bring him joy but all she had to offer at the moment was to have a fun day with both of them with some cash she had stolen from her mother's nightstand this morning before coming to the orphanage.
"cheol, listen-
"all the kids told me you lied."
"they said I'd never leave and..they said I'd get abandoned here." kang sae-byeok hugged her little brother taking the tears out of sight from his face.
"they're wrong, and mom and dad will be here soon. I swear, okay?"
"I'll make sure that they do. don't worry. listen, we'll all live under the same roof next year, okay?"
"I'm your big sis."
"I always keep my word, don't I?
after that very emotional scene, yujin decided to surprise them both.
"hey, cheol do you like arcades?" the little boy looked at her and shook his head. "how about I take both you and your sister to the arcade near by here? would you like that?"
"yeah, can we go please." his eyes filled with joy looking at his sister who nodded and stood up taking his hand along with hers.
after being allowed to take cheol out for a couple hours they walked downtown where you could see everything kids have always wanted from tays to gaming arcades. it looked fun to do something that didn't include your death.
"how'd you get the money?" the taller girl asked
"I grabbed it from my mother's nightstand, come on lets get rid of it before she comes tracking me down."
both girls were walking in now to a huge kid gaming center, with a little boy who is just looking for joy in his day.

should I start working on chapter 9 (where they have a fun day with our little loving boy Cheol.
