I knocked twice and waited until Eric shouted that I could come in.

"You called for me?" I asked with a hint of annoyance in my voice as I closed the door behind me.

"Watch it." he warned. When he didn't continue straight away I walked up to his desk. His eyes followed me with a weird glint in his eyes and a smug smirk on his face.

"Starting from today you're factionless." he said with a smile.

"What? Why?" my palms began to get sweaty at just the thought of getting factionless.

"You broke basic Dauntless rules and as leader of this faction I've decided that you're no longer able to join this faction." he continued with authority dripping from his voice but still with the same smug smile.

"Which rule did I break?" I asked as my brain went nuts. I wasn't even sure what I was feeling. All I knew is that when you mix scared and angry, you don't get a nice result.

"You're involved with Daryl Hunter." he stated "I've got people seeing you two together. The rules state that you can't be involved with a Dauntless member before you're completely Dauntless."

"Who says that it's more than friends?" I huffed annoyed.

"It's a judgment call." Eric said with a sadistic smile "and I'm the judge. Now just sit here while I call the guard to escort you out of the Dauntless compound."

Eric got up from his chair and walked around his desk. My mind went blank. All I could think about was I'm not done yet.

I stepped back, cutting Eric off from reaching the door and crossed my arms.

"Move, factionless." he sneered.

"No, pedophile." I snapped back as I stepped closer to him. "I think that people will be interested to hear that the leader of Dauntless made out with an under aged Erudite girl."

Eric started to glare at me as he stepped back.

Blackmailing only works if you know that the other person doesn't have any dirt on you.

"Now unless you don't mind the entire community finding out about your little secret, I guess that we need to sort some things out." I said with a smirk.

"What makes you think that you'll be alive to tell the tale?" he commented dangerously calm.

"How stupid do you think I am? I told someone. If I die, your secret will be told." I bluffed confidently.

Eric studied my expression for any hint of a bluff. It was silent for a few seconds until he suddenly grinned and nodded.

"Okay." he said as he looked up with a new found spark of interest in his eyes. "Deal. Don't get caught again with Daryl. And you're still in trouble. It's 11:05. You're late for training."

Shit.

"You're dismissed." Eric said as he stood up.

I gave him a small nod and quickly rushed out through the door. I didn't run, just walked on a fast pace.

I've really screwed it up here, haven't I? I was supposed to start anew in Dauntless. No one knew me and I knew no one. A fresh start. How did I end up nearly factionless because of people hating me?

I don't need everyone to be friendly. God no. If I wanted that I would've chosen Amity and that was never an option.

I have to tell someone what happened between Eric and Kayli. I don't want Eric to walk free if he ends up deciding to kill me.
