The kitchen was so smoky, that I had to crack open the window just to stop myself from sweating.

"Damn." I sighed before checking on the ham and it still wasn't done so j closed the oven back before going back to the corn pudding.

"You good ?" I heard and I turned around to see Zay

"No." I mumbled and he lightly laughed before hugging me from behind.

"What you need me to do ?" He asked and I pointed to the Macaroni.

"You can cook... right ?" I asked and he waved me off

"You trynna play ?" He asked and I busted out laughing before continuing to make everything else

Brian, one of his friend's Damon, jr, Jd, Malik, And Shawn were all in the living room screaming at the sports show that they were watching. Liyah, Anna, London, Kaliyah Ary, Amoura, and her daughter Lexis were all downstairs in the den, and Ari was sent off to the store.

Everything was going smoothly, the fall decorations were out, everyone was getting along, and it was all just a family oriented vibe.

I'm not even gonna lie, it felt weird not having Trey here. I did send him out a invite just because I didn't want him spending thanksgiving alone, but even if he didn't come, I planned on taking him and Jada a plate myself.
