"Do y'all wanna at least bake the cake while I finish up the rest of the food?" I asked And Liyah and Ary came over

"Yea ma." Ary laughed before they both got started

"You ok ?" I asked Liyah and she nodded

"Yea na I'm good." She waved off

"You sure ? You went through a lot these past few days, im sorry." I told her

"Don't apologize, I mean yea you left me with a clown but nothing that happened was your fault." She said before I lightly laughed

"That's not funny, y'all need to talk when he comes over here." I said

"Wait he's coming ?" She asked

"He has to being London back and I'm pretty sure he's gonna grab a plate and be out." I said and she raised her eyebrows

"Who else is coming ?" Ary asked

"Brian, Zay, Jr, Anna-

"Ma.." Ary interrupted and I furrowed my eyebrows

"You don't want Anna to come ?" I asked

"No not Anna, you skipped over Ari, you can't invite her whole family and still leave her out." She said and I cleared my throat

"Plus I want her here, I wanna have a... family talk." She said and I furrowed my eyebrows

"About ?" I asked

"You'll see, just let her come." She said and I shrugged

"She honestly was probably gonna come anyways invite or not so." I mumbled as I continued cooking.

"But anyways how was your trip ma?" Ary asked changing the subject

"It was good, we did a lot." I nodded

"Oh y'all did a lot ?" Liyah smirked and I gave her a side eye

"I can still whoop you." I said causing her to laugh

"Sorry ma but you should've saw that one coming." She said and I shook my head

"Honest opinion, how do y'all feel about Zay ?" I asked

"I mean still shocked a lil, but I'm happy as long as you're happy." She nodded and Ary did the same

"He's been nice to all of us, I just didn't see him as your type." Ary said and I furrowed my eyebrows

"What's that suppose to mean?" I asked

"It means Zay is all books, artsy, proper, religious, and you're used to-

"Ducking below the window when you hear tires screeching." Liyah mumbled and Ary nudged her causing me to smack my teeth

"I mean that exactly ma, everyone that you've ran into was basically trouble for you, I'm just glad to see positive black love, y'all match." She told me and I smiled Before she put the fake in the oven

"Uhh Malik said he had a gift for you is it okay if he swings by ?" Liyah asked

"Oh yeah I have something for him too, tell him to come now." I told her and she nodded

After a minute I finished up cooking and we heard a knock at the door. Malik came in with a couple of bags and came over to hug me.

"Merry Christmas." He told me

"Merry Christmas to you too, how's your granny doing ?" I asked

"She's doing good, she's been asking slot about you too I'll have to bring her by sometime." He said and I nodded in agreement before he handed me one of the bags in his hand
