"You good?" My daddy asked me and I nodded

"Fine." I sighed before sitting up and he walked in

"When did you get here?" I asked

"Early this morning." He replied and I gave him a side eye

"What did you do to him." I asked

"Not shit yet, get some rest, me and Angel downstairs, stuff coming back to you yet ?" He asked

"It's weird, it doesn't come to me that I don't remember until someone says something and I can't think; and then a few minutes later I remember." I said

"That's why they told you to rest, giving yourself time to process."

"Come downstairs, watch a movie with us." He offered

"Just come on." He chuckled before helping me up.

"Did you make her a plate ?" She asked

"Can you do it  ? Ima use to the bathroom real quick ?" He asked and she nodded before he left

"I can do it.." I said before walking over and she waved me off

"No go sit I got it, you're not feeling good." She told me and cleared my throat before going into the living area

She came over with the plate and I raised my eyebrows.

"Is this French toast ?" I asked

"It's just toast." She replied

"Oh." I said before scratching my head

"Thanks."

Her dog which was a baby pit came around the corner and started begging

"Nigga you ain't gotta beg." I mumbled before tossing the burnt toast at the dog.

After a minute my dad came back while she was in the kitchen

"Is it good?" He asked

"I see why you ate thanksgiving at ma's." I told him straight up and he cleared his throat before taking the plate trying not to laugh.

Me and Janiyah both looked around for Shawn in the airport eventually growing frustrated

"You keep saying the same section and we don't see you." I sighed and he smacked his teeth

"Turn around smart ass." He chuckled

He was only gonna be here for two full days, and our appointment was in the next hour.
