Chapter 26

The next day...

Davina's pov

I pull up at my house and get out, I walk round the car and get Dove out who clutches a teddy in her hand that Kol gave her. A smile appears on my face at the thought of Kol, he's been so good to me and Dove, it was nice of him to watch her for me last night and it felt good opening up about what I went through with the witches that kidnapped me.

Kol comforted me and listened to me, I was afraid that he judge me but he didn't. We spent the majority of last night talking and laughing on the couch until we fell asleep on the couch, I woke up and found myself with my head on his chest and his arm was wrapped around my waist,

I waited until Kol was awake before leaving with Dove as I didn't just want to leave without warning because would've been rude especially when he's been so nice to me. I like Kol, I really do but I'm hesitant to start a relationship as I'm afraid of it not working out and getting hurt.

I sigh and shake my head as I walk up to the front door and insert my key, I turn it and unlock the door. I turn the doorknob and open the door "dad? uncle Damon I'm home" I announce as I walk through the door. I hear a whoosh as I turn to pull my key out and shut the door.

I turn back around and see my uncle standing there with a look on his face that I can't figure out "uncle what's wrong?" I ask "come sit down, we need to talk" he says gesturing me to follow him into the living room.

I follow him into the living room and find Elena sat there looking upset "Elena could you excuse us a moment?" Damon asks "of course" she replies standing up and as she goes to walk past me she just gives me a sympathetic smile making me frown as she leaves. I wait until I know she's left the house before sitting down.

My uncle sits down next to me as I gently place Dove down on the floor and she just plays with her teddy "what's going on uncle?" I ask in a serious tone "somethings happened last night" he says making me nod "and?" I ask "well you know how this Klaus wanted to sacrifice Elena to break some curse on him?" he questions making me nod "yes" I respond "well I went to go stop the sacrifice to save Elena as she had been kidnapped by one of Klaus's lackey's. Your dad came with me and when we got there, we intervened but Klaus managed to or at least he believes he broke his curse. On my way to stop the sacrifice I was bitten by a werewolf and a werewolf bite is lethal to a vampire" he explains making my eyes widen.

"You were bitten? Where's the bite?" I ask concerned "it's gone now" he says making me frown "it is but a werewolf bite is suppose to be lethal to a vampire" I say and he nods "yeah, I was on the verge of dying. Your dad didn't want to just let me die so he went to Klaus to see if there was a way to cure me and there was" he explains "well that's good isn't it? There was a cure and you obviously took it because you're currently alive and well" I respond gesturing to him.

"Well you see the thing is the cure was Klaus's blood and he would only give his blood to your dad to cure me on one condition" he says making my heart stop as I get a sudden bad feeling in my stomach "what was the condition?" I ask fearing the answer "the condition was he'd give his blood to your dad to cure me if he agreed to leave Mystic Falls with him and he agreed to the condition" he explains making my close my eyes.

"Did he even think to call me and tell me about this?" I ask making him sigh "he thought..." he starts but I cut him off by scoffing "he thought what? It would be easier to not say anything, to just up and leave without a single word!?" I snap slightly but I still keep my voice low not wanting to scare Dove.

"He was planning to call you at some point" he says "well he clearly hasn't called because I've heard nothing from him" I respond standing up "it won't be for long Davina" he assures me as he stands up "and what makes you think that? You really think that Klaus is just gonna let him come back out of the goodness of his own heart? No he won't" I say with my arms folded.
