Chapter 5

No one's pov

As soon as Dove started crying Damon snapped out of his state of shook "sorry, um come in" he said stepping aside to let his niece enter as she tried to calm the startled child in her arms making Damon feel guilty for frightening her. He didn't mean too but he was in shock, his niece that he only recently found out about just showed up on their doorstep after Bonnie failed to locate her.

Damon shut the door "your dad is out at the moment but I can get him to come home right away" he said making her shake her head. "No it's okay, I don't want to be a bother. I'll just wait for him to return" Davina replied "you're not a bother, you're his daughter and he will want to see you" Damon assured her as he led her into the living room.

Davina sat down on the couch with Dove on her lap. "Shh baby girl it's okay" she cooed kissing her daughter on the forehead as the child clung to her mother.

Damon left the room to call Stefan who was out on a date with Elena.

"Damon?" Stefan answered on the other end "Stefan you need to come home right away" Damon said "can it wait? You know I'm on a date with Elena" Stefan replied "yeah well this is a little more important than your date because your daughter just showed up on our doorstep" Damon revealed taking Stefan by surprise.

"Are you serious? This isn't some joke is it?" Stefan asked "it's not a joke, your daughter is here. She just showed up" Damon replied "how do you know it's her?" He asked "she has white hair like in the pictures of her when she was a child and she said she's looking for you her father" Damon explained "okay make sure she stays where she is. Me and Elena are on our way over" Stefan said "just you Stefan. Don't bring Elena, this is your daughter and you need to see her alone plus she has a small child with her" Damon said "she has a child?" Stefan asked "just get over here and you'll find out for yourself but no Elena. This is a family matter" Damon said "alright, I'll go drop her off at home and then I'll come home" Stefan replied before hanging up the phone.

Damon headed back into the living room where Davina was stroking Dove's hair as the child calmly sat on her lap with her head resting against her mother's chest.

"Your dad's on his way" he said earning a nod from Davina "okay" she replied Damon's eyes trailed to the little girl on her lap. "What's her name?" He asked "Dove" she answered with a smile. "It's a sweet name" he commented as he pulled a funny face in an attempt to make the little girl laugh but she just sucked her thumb in her mouth and turned away from him.

15 minutes later....

The front door opened and slammed shut startling Dove who looked scared at the sudden loud bang causing her to cling onto her mother. "Shh it's okay baby girl" Davina cooed as she pressed her lips against her forehead just before Stefan entered and his eyes widened when he saw her.

"D-Davina?" He stuttered causing a small smile to appear on her face as she gently placed Dove down beside her before standing up to greet him. "Hi dad" she said with a nervous smile "how can this be? Y-you were dead" Stefan stuttered "I was never dead. You were lied too" Davina replied and a smile suddenly broke out on Stefan's face.

"It really is you. God just look at how you've grown" he said as he pulled her into a hug making her laugh slightly. "It's really me dad" she replied before pulling back to look at him.

"What are you doing here?" Stefan asked curiously "I sensed someone trying to locate me so I did a bit of digging and found out it was your witch friend" Davina explained before she gave him another hug.

"Mama" Dove spoke as she stood up on the couch causing a smile to appear on Davina's face while Stefan frowned making her feel a bit nervous.

"Come here baby" Davina cooed as she picked up Dove and balanced her on her hip. "Dad I would like you to meet my daughter Dove" Davina said making Stefan's eyes soften as he looked at the little girl. "Dove sweetie this is your grandpa Stefan" Davina explained to her little girl who's face lit up slightly. "My papa?" Dove asked pointing to herself making Davina giggle and nod "yes, he's your papa" she replied and Dove smiled.

"Papa!" She squealed as Davina handed her to Stefan "hello sweetheart. Aren't you a little cutie?" Stefan cooed as he gently bounced her on his hip, instantly falling in love with his granddaughter.

"Congratulations Stefan you're now a grandpa" Damon cheered and Dove let out a little giggle and clapped her hands making them laugh.
