Chapter 53

Davina's pov

I was woken by a bright light in the corner of the room. I look beside me and see Kol fast asleep, completely undisturbed by the sudden bright light in the room.

"Davina" a voice whispered making me turn my head and my eyes widen as I see my mother standing in the corner "mother" I say abruptly sitting up "my child. Look how beautiful you've become" she says with a smile on her face. "H-How are you here?" I ask and she sighs "that doesn't matter right now" she says making me frown.

"Why are you here? Can you tell me where you are?" I ask making her shake her head "I can't tell you where I am because I don't want you to find me" she says making my eyes widen "w-what? Why?" I ask confused "because it's not safe. This is the reason why I'm here now, to warn you against going any further in your search. You must stop looking for me" she explains making me frown "but I'm trying to find you and set you free from those evil bastards" I respond and she gives me a soft smile.

"I know but it's too dangerous. The coven have eyes and ears like hawks, if they catch on to you trying to find them, you will be in danger and I don't want you putting yourself in harms way for me. Keep yourself safe, don't go any further or you risk putting not only yourself at risk but also others" she explains her eyes trail over to the cot where Dove is sleeping.

"What about you?" I ask making her sigh "don't worry about me, my child. I will find my way out of this hellhole. I am slowly waking up and getting stronger by the day, I'm breaking through the spell they have on me to keep me down but it's only a matter of time before I completely break it and I break free and trust me, I will make them pay for what they've done. I will avenge what happened to us" she assures me making me nod slightly.

"I miss you, mom" I say with sadness in my tone and she gives me a soft smile "I know and I miss you, my sweet girl" she replies making me look down at my hands as I fight back tears.

"Once I've broken free of my cursed slumber and I've made the coven pay. I will come find you but for now, my sweet girl stay safe, go home and continue with your life, don't put it on hold for me" she says making me frown "I'm not ready to go home, there's too much going on there" I say shaking my head "so don't go back just yet, have some fun, relax and spend quality time with your little one and your boyfriend" she says with a slight smirk as she looks at Kol who is still fast asleep. "He's a handsome one" she teases making me blush "you have good taste, my girl" she says making me blush harder "mom" I whine making her laugh.

"I must go now, my child" she says starting to back away "don't go" I plead holding my hand out and she flashes me a soft smile "I must, my child. I can only conjure myself in your dreams for so long and you're about to wake up but know I'm watching from afar and we will be together soon" she promises before disappearing.

"Davina!" Kol shouts his tone filled with worry as he stands in front of me with a concerned expression. "Kol?" I ask making him relax "why are you standing on the bed?" I ask making him frown. "What? Davina you're not in bed" he states making me frown and my eyes widen as I find myself standing near the corner where my mother appeared.

"W-What, I don't understand. I was in bed, I never got up from the bed" I say shaking my head, confused "you did, darling. You got up and walked over here, I tried calling you for you ignored me. You looked like you were in some sort of trance" he explains placing his hands on my arms.

"I was dreaming" I say making him raise an eyebrow "you were doing more than just dreaming there, love. You were sleep walking and you just stood still, staring at the wall in some sort of trance. I was worried about you" he says making me frown.
