A few hours later....
Davina's pov
I arrive outside Kol's apartment and knock on the door which opens a few seconds later and Kol stands there with a smile "hey love how was work?" he asks stepping aside to let me enter "busy as hell and now I'm tired" I respond as I enter the living room and smile as I find Dove fast asleep on the couch with a blanket over her and a pillow tucked under her head.
"How was she?" I ask "she was fine, we played a bit, she ate and we watched tangled twice" he explains making me smile "yeah she really loves that movie" I respond "and now I can't get the songs out of my head" he says making me giggle "yeah that happens" I respond as I gently sit down beside Dove and gently run my fingers through her hair.
She stirs before settling without waking up so I decide to leave her not wanting to wake her "come on" Kol says holding a hand out to me making me frown before I take his hand and he pulls me off the couch and leads me away from the living room.
He leads me out to a small balcony outside of his bedroom "wait Dove" I say glancing back into the living room as I can just about see into the living room from his bedroom "she'll be fine, don't worry. I just wanted a moment" he says before pulling his phone out and starting to play a song making me cock an eyebrow.
"You seem stressed and I just can't have that so may I have this dance?" he asks as he does a little bow before holding his hand out to me making me laugh "why since you asked so nicely" I respond taking his hand and he pulls me close to him and slowly starts to sway us to the music.
The balcony light suddenly lights up and shines down on us as we slow dance "this is like so cheesy in so many ways" I say making him chuckle "it has you smiling though and that's all that matters besides this is not cheesy, I call it being romantic" he retorts "cheesy romantic" I respond "maybe a little" he replies before twirling me around and pulling me back to him.
I glance up at him, our eyes locking as we get lost in each others trance swaying on the spot to the music before I noticing him leaning forward and suddenly feel his lips against mine making my eyes flutter shut as I return the kiss, moving my lips in sync with his.
My phone ringing makes us pull away with a groan not liking being interrupted "hello?" I answer without glancing at the caller I.D "Davina I need your help" Elena says making me sigh "hi Davina, how are you doing Davina? I'm good thanks but yeah go right ahead and ask for help without saying hi or asking how I am first" I say sarcastically making her sigh.
"Please Davina I don't have much time" she says "what do you want?" I ask "I'm in Chicago and I happen to be stuck hiding in a closet of your dads old apartment here, him and Klaus stopped by and they were very close to finding me, well actually your dad did but he didn't say anything to Klaus which means he's still with us, we haven't lost him" Elena rants making me nod.
"You do know how dangerous this is for you right? My uncle told you to stay put and did you listen? No" I say "it's your dad Davina, don't you want him back? Do you even care that some evil guy has him?" she asks making my blood boil "of course I care, of course I want him back but going after him knowing who he's with is too dangerous, we need to be careful and the only reason why I'm not doing anything is because I don't want to anger Klaus or provoke him especially with having a child so do yourself a favor and get your ass back here" I say "I'm bringing him home no matter what" she says making me sigh "alright but just so you know my uncle is on his way to get you, I just told him where you are so he's on his way so stay out of trouble" I say before hanging up the phone.
I sigh running a hand through my hair before looking at Kol "sorry about that" I say making him shake his head "no it's fine, I get it. I've dealt with people like that before" he says "like who?" I ask "my sister, sometimes my brother but mostly my sister" he replies "you don't talk much about your siblings" I say "for good reason, trust me you don't want to know about them" he says making me frown.
"Of course I do, you're my boyfriend I want to know everything" I say and I notice something flicker in his eyes but I don't think anything of it "in a relationship if you really trust that person and feel comfortable with them then you can be open with them, no secrets" I say grabbing his hand and he sighs, squeezing my hand as he lifts it to his lips and kisses my knuckle.
"In time love" he replies as he pulls me to him as he puts on a new song and we start dancing on the balcony again "mama?" Dove suddenly calls out making us stop but we don't pull away from each other. I turn my head as Dove appears in the doorway of the bedroom, clutching her teddy bear while rubbing her eyes "I'm right here sweetie" I call out to her "mama" she says as she toddles her way through Kol's room, stumbling slightly on her little legs making me smile as I pull away from Kol.
She suddenly looses her full balance and plonks down on her knees "oh no" she utters making me giggle as I walk over and pick her up "oh dear baby you had a little tumble" I coo as I balance her on my hip before I look back at Kol who's smiling at us.
"We should get going" I say "you don't need too, you can stay here" he offers "thanks but we can't, she needs her bed" I say "okay well will you be alright back at home?" he asks "of course we will. I'll see you later yeah?" I say as I approach him "of course" he replies leaning forward to give me a kiss but Dove pushes him away "no" she says "hey, you just denied mommy's kiss" I say and she plants a kiss on my cheek in response making me me smile "do you want a kiss too is that why you stopped me kissing your mommy?" Kol asks and Dove shyly hides her face in my neck.
Kol takes advantage and gives me a kiss quick on the lips making her snap her head up and she narrows her eyes at him before he plants a kiss on her cheek making her smile and let out a shriek causing us to laugh.
"Okay now we have to go, see you later" I say giving him one last kiss before exiting the bedroom and grabbing Dove's things from the living room "message me when you get home so I know you're safe" Kol says as he walks me to the door "I will" I respond turning to give him a kiss on the cheek "say bye bye" I coo as I wave and motioning Dove to wave "bye" she says with a little wave and Kol smiles "bye love" he replies before we turn and leave.
