Chapter 10

Things are speeding up a bit but that's because I know you probably want Kol to make an appearance soon plus things will be very different from the show even though it does follow the breaking the curse storyline.

Two days later...

Davina's pov

I had just finished my first shift at the Mystic Grill and it was tiring yet I feel satisfied with myself knowing I'm earning my own money to provide for my daughter and not having to rely on my dad and uncle who keep on insisting that I don't need to work and they keep trying to give me money but I just can't accept it knowing I haven't earned it. 

So I'm heading back home to my baby now and I hope she's okay. My dad is looking after her and he didn't call me or anything so I assume everything's okay but still I can't help but worry, she's my baby. I plan to just have a load of cuddles with my little girl and watch tv since it is getting pretty late and she is nearing her bedtime plus I have school in the morning whoopie! Not, I really don't want to go to school, one I've never been except for kindergarten and two I don't want to be that far away from Dove even though I'm away from her when I'm working.

Dove is use to being away with me but she can be clingy at times so I worry a lot however my dad keeps assuring me everything will be fine.

I arrive home "I'm home" I announce as I walk through the door "mama!" my baby squeals making me giggle before a smile appears on my face as she comes toddling round the corner wearing a pink baby grow and clutching her unicorn teddy and a brown horse teddy that my dad bought her.

"There's my baby girl" I coo getting down on my knees and holding my hands out to her as she toddles towards me.

She giggles as she reaches me and I pick her up "I missed you, did you miss me?" I ask as I stand up "yes" she replies for a one year old Dove can speak some words really well.

I look up as my dad comes round the corner "hey was work okay?" He asks "it was good. How was Dove?" I ask placing her down. "She was well behaved. She's a little angel" he replies looking down at Dove who just plonked herself on the floor by my feet and is playing with her stuffed toys.

"I know she is" I respond looking down at her making her look up at us and she flashes us a big grin making us chuckle. "I'll be more than glad to mind her anytime. Honestly it allows me to have bonding time with my granddaughter" dad responds making me happy that he's enjoying spending time with his granddaughter.

"Well I think that would be great for you and her now if you'll excuse me. I have to make Dove her night time bottle and then put her to bed" I say picking her up.

"Oh there's no need as I already gave Dove her night time bottle and I brushed her teeth so she's all ready for bed, I tried to put her to bed but she wouldn't settle" my dad explains "did you put her in the crib?" I ask and he nods. "Yes, I did" he replies "then that's why she wouldn't settle. Dove doesn't like sleeping in the crib and prefers sleeping with me" I explain making him frown.

"Oh I see, how long has she been sharing the same bed as you" He questions making me frown "only for two months ever since she figured out how to get out of her crib. She likes being near me and can't sleep unless I'm next to her" I explain hoping he's not gonna judge me. "Being near me as she sleeps brings her comfort and she feels safe. Obviously I won't let her sleep in the same bed as me forever as I will get her out of it but for now it's okay, she's a baby" I rant making him chuckle.

"Calm down I wasn't judging you. I know what it's like as you use to like sleeping with me and your mother when you were near enough Dove's age" he says making me sigh in relief. "If I was aware I would've laid with her until she went to sleep" he adds making me smile "well now you know. Anyway I'm tired and Dove is tired and it's gonna be a long day tomorrow so I'm heading to bed" I say giving him a hug before heading upstairs.

I reach my bedroom and shut the door behind me. I walk over to my bed and place Dove done who quickly gets under the covers and snuggles up against the pillows making me smile.

I grab my pj's and head into my walk in wardrobe and quickly get changed into them. I exit the wardrobe "I'll be right back sweetheart" I say looking at her as she plays with her cuddly toys.

I exit the room and head to the bathroom where I brush my teeth.

Once I've brushed my teeth, I head back to my room and get in bed. I use my magic to turn off the lights except for the night light as Dove cuddles up to me. "Night baby girl, mama loves you" I whisper as I place a kiss on her forehead. "Wuv you mama" she replies making my heart melt as she can't quiet pronounce love yet.

Meanwhile....

No one's pov

Alaric Saltzman was heading to his apartment after Jenna arrived back from work. Elijah was still in Mystic Falls apparently so Elena was still on lockdown somewhat, Bonnie had taken the barrier down so Elena could leave but only when she was with someone else. Everyone was trying to make sure she remained safe as they had no telling what Elijah was planning and they didn't want to take any chances.

Anyway Elena decided to be bold and try to reach out to Elijah to speak with him regarding Klaus and this curse he wanted to break but Damon dragged her back to the house.

Alaric was put on Elena duty while Jenna was at work and when Jeremy was out to ensure she didn't do anything stupid since the girl appeared to have a death wish.

Alaric was nearing the apartment building where he lived when he heard rustling making him stop as he heard rustling "hello?" he asked looking around in search of anyone who was nearby and responsible for making those noises but when he saw nothing, he just continued walking and failed to notice a short young woman sneaking up behind him before she suddenly whacked him over the head from behind and knocked him unconscious.

The girl smirked as a man with dirty blonde hair and a devilish grin walked out from the shadows "great work, Greta. Now it's time to prep him so I can spy on the doppelganger" he spoke with a British accent "of course Klaus" Greta replied as another man with darker skin walked out from the shadows and grabbed Alaric by the foot and dragged him in the direction of his apartment.

"Klaus I must warn you that your brother Elijah has been spotted around here" Greta explained "well I certainly don't want him ruining my plans so I must be careful about what I do next" Klaus replied before they walked away and headed to Alaric's apartment.

They reached Alaric's apartment and the male witch that dragged Alaric up to the apartment had tied Alaric to a chair. Greta started setting up for a spell while Klaus remained outside since he hadn't been given permission to enter so he just glanced around the inside of the apartment, cringing slightly as it was a little too bland for his taste.

"The spell is ready Klaus" Greta announced as she made a cut on Alaric's arm letting his blood drip down his arm into the circle where he was stationed. Greta held hands with the male witch and they began to chant together, the wind slowly began to pick up and their heads tilted back as they chanted louder while Klaus smirked as Alaric woke up and was bewildered at what was happening but before he could even say anything or react. He was knocked out again and Klaus fell to the floor at the same time, his body remained lifeless on the floor as Greta and the male witch kept on chanting.

Greta and the male witch suddenly dropped to the floor in a heap, gasping as they felt drained from the spell they just did. "Did it work?" the man asked glancing at Alaric's body "it had too have worked" Greta replied right before Alaric woke up with a gasp.

He looked around the room before glancing down at his hands and he smirked as he effortlessly got out of the restraints and stood up looking at the two witches that helped him. "Well done love, you both did a splendid job" he said with a deep accent, this wasn't Alaric speaking. This was Klaus speaking as he had possessed the history teacher/vampire hunters body with the help of his two ally witches.

Klaus was in town and ready to wreck havoc. He was ready to break his curse and he would do whatever it took to get his own way.
