Chapter 58

No one's pov

Kol, Davina and Dove had finally arrived back in Mystic Falls. Kol briefly glanced over to Davina who was asleep in the passenger sleep before glancing to the back where Dove was also fast asleep. He smiled to himself as he turned his attention back to the road as he drove silently through Mystic Falls. It was mid afternoon so it was still day light and there were people about but Mystic Falls just seemed to feel quiet at times when really it wasn't as there was always something going on.

He soon came to the main part of town and saw people coming in and out of shops and cafes. People were going into the grill and he saw a drunk bloke stagger out before lurching over as he vomited all over the pavement making people grimace around him.

Kol just kept driving until he was past the town before coming to a stop in front of a small house. He cut the engine off and looked to Davina and Dove who were still asleep, not wanting to wake them he quietly got of the car and made his way round to Dove's side. 

He quietly opened the door and carefully started to unbuckle her, he paused as she stirred slightly but relaxed as she remained asleep. He gently lifted her out of the car seat and took her into his arms along with her favourite blanket, his heart melted as the child snuggled her head in the crook of his neck, her small hands grasping at the collar of his shirt.

He quietly shut the car door and turned heading for the house, pulling out a key as he approached it. He slotted the key into the door, turning it to unlock it before gently opening the door. He entered the house and quietly made his way up the stairs, he stopped as one of the steps creaked making him curse and he reminded himself that he would need to fix that as he continued his way up the stairs.

Kol made his way down the hall at the top of the stairs and stopped at a door. He gently pushed it open revealing a small room with a crib and a rocking chair inside it, the room was painted a light pink with a white crib and a white rocking chair in the corner. Kol had got rid of his apartment and got a small two bedroom house, he had kept on tabs on the house, making sure it was all prepared for whenever they were to come back.

Kol entered the room and approached the crib before gently lowering Dove into it. He placed her blanket over her before gently running a hand through her soft hair, smiling down at the small child as she grasped onto a corner of her banket and nuzzled it against her cheek in her sleep.

He quietly stepped back and left the room, leaving the door open ajar. He speed down the stairs and out the house, to the car where Davina was stirring and starting to wake up "hello sleeping beauty, have a nice nap?" he asked making her blush as she stretched her arms and legs before opening the door "Dove's inside" he said before she could go for the back door. She frowned before looking at the house "this isn't your apartment" she stated as she shut the door.

"Correct, it's not. I got rid of the apartment and upgraded to a house" he explained as he wrapped an arm around her waist as they walked up the little path leading to the house. "Well it's lovely" she replied smiling as he kissed the top of her head "not as lovely as you" he stated making her blush before they heard someone calling her name.

"Davina?" Liz Forbes called out as she got out of her car that she had just parked up at the side when she saw Kol and Davina. "Oh hi Liz, everything alright?" Davina questioned as she turned to the blonde "things are fine. It's good to see you back, when did you get back?" Liz questioned as she neared the couple "we just got back now, why?" Davina answered "your father's been worried about you. He reported you and Dove missing when you left and said you were kidnapped by Kol" she explained making Davina frown while Kol narrowed his eyes
