The next day.....later that evening

Davina's pov

I'm currently at work making up for not being able to work yesterday. I've had a bit of a busy day, I finally went back to school today as Liz kindly offered to babysit Dove for me so I could go to school.

School honestly wasn't that bad today, I mean I still got dirty looks off people but I just ignored them and held my head up high although Caroline did snap at anyone who looked at me the wrong. She's such a good friend and a good sport, she's the type that is pushy but kind and they genuinely care about your well-being aside from their own.

Speaking of Caroline she is babysitting Dove for me tonight otherwise I wouldn't have been able to come to work. As for my father and Uncle I am not speaking to them as they are still holding Elijah in their home yet they want me and Dove to come home. No fucking chance that's happening.

"Davina could you see to booth number 6?" My boss asks from the bar "of course" I respond nodding my head as I pull out my pad as I make my way over to the booth.

"Hello welcome to the Mystic Grill. I'm Davina your waitress for the evening, how may I help you?" I ask not looking up at first as I was pulling a pen out of my pocket but when I do look up, I freeze slightly as I see Kol sat there.

"Hello darling, fancy seeing you here" he says flashing me a handsome grin "well I do work here and you already knew that" I respond cocking my head to the side.

He chuckles "of course, I just didn't expect you to be working tonight because of your little family squabble or has that been resolved?" He questions cocking an eyebrow. "Nothing has been resolved. My family are being stubborn selfish idiots and I'm not being listened too which I don't have time for as I have a child to raise, school to attend and work so I can pay bills and provide for my child" I respond clicking my pen.

"I'm sorry" he apologizes making me frown "why are you sorry?" I ask confused "I don't know, I just felt like I annoyed you right then" he replies making me shake my head. "You didn't annoy me, I was annoyed at the situation not you" I respond placing a hand on his shoulder and he just looks at my hand.

I pull my hand away clearing my throat "sorry. Anyway what would you like to order?" I ask "I'll have a bourbon love and that drink date with you" he responds cheekily making me roll my eyes although a smile tugs at my lips.

"Sorry I don't get paid to have drinks with my customers" I respond in more of a playful tone. "Oh I didn't mean now, of course. I understand work is important to you. I mean I was hoping for an answer to that drink date" he responds making me blush slightly from embarrassment.

"You're still asking for that date?" I ask "yes I am" he replies with a grin "you're pretty persistent aren't you?" I ask lowering my notepad. "Only when it comes to something I want" he responds shrugging his shoulders. "And you really, really want me to go on that drink date with you?" I ask leaning forward placing one of my hands on the table as I look into his eyes, smirking as I can feel him suddenly go all nervously as I come closer to him.

"Y-yes I do" he stutters making me giggle as I stand up "fine, I'll go on a drink date with you but no funny business because I don't just accept dates with anyone however if you're secretly a kidnapper who likes to adbuct and murder women, I'll have you know I have the power to kick your ass to the moon and back" I respond making him chuckle and hold his hands up.
