Chapter Eight

"I really shouldn't be out here." Scott complained looking around as we trudged through woods once again."My mom has been in a constant state of freak out since that night at the school."

Stiles rolled his eyes. "Well, your mom isn't the Sheriff. There's no comparison. Trust me."

I chuckled. "My mom has been on mine and Lydia's tails."

"Alright. So, when one of your best friends gets dumped--"

"I didn't get dumped!" Scott yelled at Stiles. "We're taking a break."

I winced at his words, "Scott–"

"Alright, well when your best friend gets told by his girlfriend that they're taking a break.." Stiles interrupted, "You get your best friend drunk."

"So you guys are going to get drunk?" I asked Stiles as we continued our hike through the woods.

Stiles chuckled shaking his head, "Oh no, not just us Otto. We're all going to get drunk." He said smirking at the bottle of Jack Daniels in his hand.

I let out a groan as we came to a spot where Stiles decided to stop. "Look, as fun as it sounds to get wasted in the woods....Nothing good ever happens in these woods. Right Scott?" I asked looking at my best friend for support. All I got back was a grunt, okay maybe we should get him drunk.

****

So at this point I was a little tipsy, okay maybe a little more than just a little tipsy. But hey, I mean... I'm a pretty hilarious drunk girl, or maybe I just laugh at everything. Oh well, who really cares. I looked over at Scott who still looked incredibly bummed, and it was kinda downing my vibe. I took one more Swig of the brown liquid and enjoyed the sensation of it burning down my throat. "S-Scott, here. Take a drink buddy." I slurred as I walked over to my best friend who was sitting on a giant rock. He shook his head, so groaned and handed it to Stiles instead.

"D-Dude. Dude. You know, she-she's just one girl. One girl. You know out of so many, there are so many girls in the sea." Stiles said.

Scott sighed, "Fish in the sea." he corrected. I let out a laugh and sat down, leaning up against the rock that Scott was sitting on.

"Fish? Why are you talking about fish? I'm talking about girls–" he let out a long breath, "I love girls. I love 'em. Love...especially one's with brown hair, green eyes, five foot two..."

"Woah....that almost sounds exactly like me!" I reached over and grabbed the bottle of Jack taking another drink.

I glanced towards Scott as he gave Stiles a confused look, "You mean like Autumn?"

"Yeah...Exactly, hey! how did you know I was talking about, abou-....What was I talking about?" he asked as he laid there with a stupid smile on his face.

"I think you were talking about how great of a person I am...but I mean, I don't blame you cause I'm Autumn Martin. I k-know I'm awesome." I heard a heavy sigh behind me, causing me to turn around and see my sad filled best friend sitting there being all...well...not happy. "Hey, you're not happy." I said standing up facing Scott. "Take a drink." I shoved the bottle in his face.

"I don't want anymore."

"You're not drunk?" Stiles sighed sitting up then laying right back down.

"I'm not anything." he replied, sadness spilling from his words. I may be drunk right now, but I could tell he wasn't even close to drunk, and he was still just as sad as he was when we first got here....maybe even worse.
