tw: violence (actually I can't remember any violence, but Rafe's in it, so probably somewhere), slight sexual content (lots of kissing 😘
a/n: so the last few chapters haven't really mentioned what's going on in the show since Midsummers, because I wanted to try to build up a few relationships since season one goes by pretty fast, and I'm trying to stretch time 😂 but next chapter will be back on course with episode 6
It was better than she remembered.
His arm wrapped around her. His thumb rubbing against the skin of her exposed midriff. Her shirt showing barely a sliver of skin, but enough to keep Rafe's eyes on her the entire time.
After taking Bexley to the seafood restaurant, he took her home. He spent the night in her room, like before. She didn't care if it bothered her mother that Rafe was over, but she hoped she didn't notice he went into her room. They weren't doing anything anyways, they were just sleeping. The next day, he took her out to breakfast, and spent the day with her again, once again spending the night next to her.
She didn't want to do anything sexual. She just wanted to sleep next to him. His warm body was a constant reassurance that he wanted her.
Rafe definitely didn't try anything either. He didn't kiss her, he didn't put his hands anywhere inappropriate. He didn't make any move at all.
He was too guilty to.
Every hour of the day he was sober, his mind kept going back to everything he said to her. He had acted so angry towards her, when he actually wasn't angry at all.
That was fucked up, right?
Topper sure thought it was.
But...it worked, didn't it?
He had Bexley back.
Although, he would've had her back anyway. Because she came and apologized, and clearly wanted him back before all these mind games.
But he still did exactly what he had already done once before, back when he blocked JJ, the thing that made her so upset at him.
He watched her cry. And he knew he could make her feel better. But he didn't do anything. He let her be sad. In fact, he let her be devastated. He had clung to him, sobbing, and he just let her cry.
Because being devastated made her more forgiving. And Rafe needed a lot of forgiveness from her, for a lot of things.
Now, the third day since they made up, the two of them sat together on her dock.
Just next to each other, just staring out at the water.
Rafe's arm was wrapped around her, and she had her head leaned on his shoulder.
And they just...sat.
And Bexley had never been happier.
And she wished she could just sit on that dock, in the warm sun, feeling the cold water, next to her favorite boy, for the rest of her life.

ROCK BOTTOM ~ Rafe Cameron // OC // JJ Maybank
FanfictionJJ's biggest flaw was his recklessness, and his bad ideas. Honestly, that didn't seem that bad to Bexley. Rafe's biggest flaw? Jealousy. Pure, uncontrolled jealousy.
