Chapter 26: Death and Proposals

I sit on my bed looking at my hands, when the door opens and my mom walks in.
"Mom!" I say and run to her and hug her.
"Oh Beatrice." she says while looking at me.
"Mom I missed you so much." I say.
"I missed you too Beatrice."

I tell her everything. What happened, how I feel, and I asked a million questions. It turns out Marcus and Evelyn are getting married again and Tobias got drunk last night when he heard the news.

"Mom, I love Tobias, and I can't live without him." I tell her when I'm finished.
"I know dear, I know. But you have to tell your father that, I can't do anything about it." she says.

"Do you think I could convince dad to let me date him again?" I ask.
She just smiles and kisses my forehead and then leaves.

TIME LAPSE

I'm to humiliated to go get breakfast and see my friends there, so Caleb gets me food. When he comes in he drops the food on my bed and sits next to me.
We sit in silence for about 5 minutes when he gets up squeezes my hand and leaves.

I feel like I've been shattered into a million pieces. I can't be with any if my friends or Tobias. I don't even think my dad will let me by Tori.

That's when I decided I was going to see my dad. I get up and run out the door. I run as fast as I can to my dad's office. When I get there I see something that surprises me.

Tobias is talking with my dad on his office. They both look serious and it looks like my dad is almost scolding Tobias. I can't hear what they're saying but it must be serious. Is it about me?

I knock on the door and Tobias opens it. He looks shocked at first but then let's me in and then walks out.
"Dad..." I say, "Beatrice I know why you're here and I just wanted to say, yes." he says
"What?"
"About your friends. I wanted to protect you and I thought the only way I could would be to keep you away from those types of people. But then I realized the only way I could protect you was if you were with those people." he explains.

I didn't even realize I was smiling so big until I jumped on my dad in a hug.
"Thank you thank daddy." I say.
"Well I suggest you go out there and tell them that yourself." he says, I nod and run out the door.

I sprint down the hallway and then I see everybody. I jump into Tobias' arms completely surprising him.
"My dad said I can be by you guys again!" I shriek.
"Did you just shriek?" Christina asks.
"Wouldn't you in a time like this?" I ask.
"Yes!" Christina shrieks and we laugh.

Then we heard a loud booming noise. Everybody stops and listens, then we hear screams. A boy a little younger than us runs down the halls, "The Erudite broke in!" He shouts while running down the hall.

We look at each other then sprint down the hall grabbing any weapons we can find. Then a crowd of people come running at us screaming. Then a group of people wearing black and blue with huge guns start firing at us.
"Take cover!" Someone yells.

Tobias and I flip a table over and go behind it. We fire at the Erudite and watch them fall. Once all of them are gone we fall back.

Suddenly someone's phone starts to ring and we all check our phones.
"It's my mom." Tobias says.
"Hello. Yeah. Do want us to go by you. Ok. Yeah we will." he says

"My mom said there was three explosions two were distractions, this was one of them, they just send a couple people in on a suicide mission so a larger group can come in through a different entrance. My mom is at the main explosion and she told us to stay put just in case more people decide to come through this way." Tobias says.

"We'll look who it is?" I here a cold voice say. I know exactly who that is.
"Peter." I say.
"Wow I'm surprised you remember me." Peter says then walks out of a dark corner with other men by him, including a man who has so many piercing can't even count them all.
