Chapter 18: Europe and Auditions

It's been two months since we've been underground and our training is FINALLY complete. Tobias taught us how to do man to man combat, shoot a gun, throw knives, and a ton of other things.

We did a lot of track also. There's this huge track that goes around the entire dauntless headquarters, I run around that whenever I get the chance.

Evelyn says were ready for our first mission. It turns out we had a traitor and they're the ones who told us they would attack Thursday, but it really was all a lie.

So we really don't have a huge enemy to fight we are slowly tarring the "enemy" apart. So life is pretty good were all taking online classes so we don't fall behind in school. It turns out I could graduate if I wanted to, I guess I'm not that stupid after all.

Tomorrow we're going to London for a secret mission, but we pretty much just have to show up. Apparently the same thing is happening in London, some idiots want to take over the government and of course there are people trying to stop it.

So we're making a peace treaty with them. It's called the Free Treaty. Evelyn obviously picked out the name and I think it's stupid. At least we get a vacation, Christina's all pumped up because we get to go shopping, and I have no idea what the boys are going to do.

TIME LAPSE

"TRIS! Get up!" Christina shouts.
"Today's the big day." Lynn says in a sarcastic tone. I look and see Tobias bringing us breakfast.
"You better hurry or my mom will be pissed if we're late.

"It's four in the morning." I complain.
"Yeah and the flight leaves at 6:00 and 50 people are coming." Four explains.
"And you do NOT want to make all of them wait." Zeke says.

TIME LAPSE

I sit in the airport next to Tobias.
"We've been waiting for hours." Al complains. Will stares at the checker board. He was playing against Uriah and some how Uriah is winning.

Our flight got delayed by 3 hours, us we arrived at five and it's seven o'clock.
"It's not my fault!" Tobias says. I look up and Evelyn is pacing back and forth.
"NOT NOW NOT TODAY!" She says she stops pacing. "We need to send them some kind of message saying our flight is delayed but we don't want to blow our cover." she says looking into space.

"Ok." Zeke says. He takes out his phone and dials a number.
"Hey buddy, our flight got delayed can you tell the others? Ok thanks." He says then hangs up.

We all stare at him.
"What?" He says, "My cousins live in London and are apart of the corporation, so I called him."
"You could blow our cover!" Evelyn says.
"Don't worry, probably a hundred people called someone saying their flight was delayed." he replies.

We all stare at him.
"I KNEW MY BOYFRIEND WASNT THAT STUPID!" Shauna shouts.
"Checkmate!" Uriah shouts.
"What!?" Will yells.
"Awe thanks babe." Zeke says then they start kissing and I fall asleep on Fours shoulder.

TIME LAPSE

I wake up to Tobias shaking me.
"Hey, it's 9:00. Time to go." He says.
I get up and realize everyone is walking into the plane and I follow everyone.

I didn't bring anything to do in the plane just some headphones and my phone. I look at my ticket seat 865. Everyone else's tickets are somewhere in the 400s so I sit far away from them. At least I have a window seat, but so does Four.

He's afraid of heights so Zeke gives his seat up and switches with Four. I sit down then a twelve year old girl sits next to me. I take off the sunglasses I was wearing and put them in my bag.

"OH. MY. GOSH." the girl says, "YOURE TRIS PRIOR!" She shouts. I just smile not knowing what to do.
"Can I get your autograph!?" She asks.
"Sure." I say and she grabs her bag and scrummages through it looking for something I can sign.
"Oh my gosh I'm so stupid." she says and pulls our her phone. Her case is a picture of me, I didn't even know they sold those.

I sign it then take a selfie with her and she posts it on Instagram. I fall asleep for the whole flight.

TIME LAPSE

We sit through the peace treaty meeting for two hours and it's finally over. Zeke and Four were messing around the whole time, the girls were chatting and Will, Al, Uriah, and his cousin were talking too.

We were suppose to be quiet of course but we could never be quiet for 30 minutes and I actually listened the whole time. When it was over the girls went shopping and the guys saw an audition thing for a movie and wanted to try out for fun.

"Whatever, so can we go now?" Christina asks.
"Ok see ya later." the guys say and kiss their girlfriends goodbye. We all spent about $1,000 today shopping except Lynn of course who was only there cause she wanted food.

I paid for it all because I just released a hit album so I had a ton of money. Plus the girls are always broke because whenever they have money they always spend it on clothes right away.

When we're done we go and pick up the guys.
"How'd it go?" Marlene asks.
"Great, good, alright." they all say.

TIME LAPSE

Since we're on a mission we can't stay long or the communists will find out where we are so we had to go home at 10:00. We get in the flight and this time I sit next to Lynn.

I fall asleep again while me and Lynn were watching Hunger Games. I wake up and it's 4:00 a.m. "
Mornin sleepy head." Lynn says, "We just landed."

We get out if the plane and Therese drives us back to Dauntless headquarters. I'm so glad to be back "home". It's 5:00 and once my head hits the pillow I fall asleep.

I wake up to people whispering. It's all the boys, Lynn, and Shauna.
"Four, this happens once in a lifetime you can't pass this up." someone says, I think Al.
"What about Tris?" Four says.
"She can come with you!" Shauna says,"it would be perfect her fame could hit Europe." she continues.

At that my eyes open, but then I close them again hoping they don't know I'm awake.
Europe? Once in a lifetime? What about Tris? What are they talking about?

Then it hits me. The auditions were for a huge movie. Four got a role.

I fling out of bed and stand in my pjs, furious. They all stare at me scared to death.
"REALLY!" I shout. No one replies.
"REALLY!" I almost scream.
"We were going to tell you when you woke up." Will says in and innocent tone which makes me angrier.

"YEAH SURE!" I yell. My eyes soften when I look at Tobias. He looks back at me and we just stare at each other for a long time.
"We'll leave you guys to talk." Shauna says softly then they all leave.

"Tobias?" I whisper. He stands up and presses his forehead to mine.
"Tris?" He replies.
"Why?" I say.
"Tris would you pass this opportunity?" he says looking at me.
"I don't know to stay with you maybe?" I say with tears swelling up in my eyes.

"Tris, you are so talented, heck you're famous because of it, you found what you're good at and what you love. Now I found that. Are you going to take this chance away from me?" He asks.

I look at him for a while then start to sob. He holds me and we sit on the bed.
"I love you." he says, then without another word walks out.
