Chapter 2: School

Beep beep beep beep
"Ugh" I say. It's 6:30 and the first day of school. I put on my best skinny jeans and a white shirt with a jean jacket and some black boots. I put my hair in a side fishtail braid and put mascara, some eyeliner, and eyeshadow on with concealer. I go downstairs and eat an apple for breakfast. I feed Lilly and hop in the car with my brother. We drive in silence the whole car ride. We are both really nervous about today. Finally we get there. Caleb sighs and he looks at me. I'm looking out the window at my new school. I look at him and he smiles. "Good luck Beatrice." he says then hugs me. At that we both get out of the car and head for our first class. Mine is Math. I walked around for a really long time and started panicking. it's 8:25 and class starts at 8:30 and I still haven't found my class yet. The bell rings and I start to sprint it was at the end if the hallway. The teacher grabbed the door handle but right before she could close it I swung in the room and sat down as quickly as I could breathing deeply. The teacher stared at me in astonishment and the class started to giggle. I just stared forward and a girl with light brown skin and short black hair looked at me and I looked at her back and we both started to laugh. "You made it" she says. "I'm Christina"
"Tris" I say
Throughout class I zone out and think about what just happened.
Maybe I'm not so bad at making friends
One girl talked to you
I just got here
She is only being friendly
"Tris" Christina whispers.
"Yeah"
"So you're new here"
"Mhm"
"Well this is Will" she motions to a guy with shaggy light brown hair almost blonde. "and this is Al" she motions to a guy with darker brown hair who is really tall. Will is sitting behind me and Al is sitting behind Christina. Both the guys wave and smile. First period is over and my second period I have with Will and my third with Will and Christina. I was actually really happy. First period was over and i had three friends already.

Third period is over and we go to lunch. I sit next to Christina and we sit across from Will and Al
"So you're from Milwaukee?" Will asks
"Yeah" 
"I have an aunt there" says Al
"So since you're new here I better give you the tour." Christina says turning around.

"That is the "popular" group, Four who's a senior he's the one in black with the dark brown hair" Four is a strong guy with a white shirt on and black leather jacket, the sad thing is, that I have a outfit that looks just like his "Zeke his best friend" she points to a strong guy with dark skin and black short hair. "Shauna  Zeke's girlfriend" Shauna has long curly blonde hair like me except you can tell she curls it. "Uriah Zeke's younger brother he's our age" Uriah looks just like his brother except different clothes "Marlene Uriah's girlfriend" Marlene is small like me with straight blonde hair "and lastly Lynn Marlene's best friend and Shauna's little sister " she points to a girl with blonde hair exactly like hers except she has a pixie cut. "Any questions?"

"What kind of name is Four?"
"He's the star football player and that was his number he's had it since he was five"

"Anyways that is Peter, Molly, and Drew, stay away from them." She says the last words slowly and is very serous about. "they are trouble especially Peter he always picks on the new kid, so stay away from him at least until the second semester but even then he's dangerous." I smile "thanks guys" "What you thought you were going to be that new kid who sits alone at lunch?" Will says laughing "hey that was me!" Al says. "Actually yeah" I said before they could start to fighting. The bell rings signaling lunch is over. I walk to my next class this class I have no one in and it's my least favorite subject. Science. While I walk I accidentally run into someone. "Sorry" I say and then I realize it's Peter and slide into a room. Then a second later I leave.

I sit down in the middle of the classroom. Then Zeke comes and sits next to me and Four on the other side of me. I sit and focus as much as I can when I hear "Four" Zeke whispers
"Yeah Zeke" Four whispers back
"This is boring"
"Yeah"
"You wanna play I spy"
"Sure"
"I spy someone blonde"
I realize I'm the only blonde in the room.

"Um that's a hard one" Four says 
" I see it but I don't know what it's called" Four says grinning
"Hey what's your name"
"Is there a problem Ms Prior?" The teacher asks. "No" I say quickly and I knew my face was really red. "Good" she says and turns back to the board. Then Four says to Zeke "I think it's Ms Prior. Or ms blonde, I don't know but she looks pretty dumb." (no offense to blondes I am a blonde Four is just trying to get in tris's nerves) "WILL YOU SHUT UP!" I shout at Four.

Everyone in the class stares at me. "I guess she is pretty dumb" Zeke says to Four. "Ms Prior I need to see you after class." says the teacher in an angry tone.

I'm skewed I tell myself
At least you made a friend
Oh so now your the good news this was actually a pretty good day till they came along.

The class is over and I sit and wait for everyone to leave. Then Four whispers in my ear "good luck Tris." Wait how did he know my name and why is he picking on me, why didn't he just say my stupid name.

"Ms Prior" the teacher says after everyone's gone. "Is everything alright?"
"Yes" I mumble
"I will only let this slide because it's your first day." She say very boldly. I walk out and find Christina and tell her everything. When I'm done she shouts "Jerk" so loud some people stare at her. She reminds me of my friend Aubrey.

                         Time lapse

Finally today is over. I tell Caleb I will meet him at the front of the school and he said he'd pull up the car. I walked as fast as I could. I just wanted to get out of here. I looked and saw to people making out and accidental bumped into someone almost knocking them down.

I really need to watch where I'm going. And you can guess who I bumped into. Peter. Again. But this time I didn't slip into a classroom. He grabbed the collar of my jacket and lifted me up resting me against the locker. He's strong I'll give him that.

"Watch where your going  blondey" he says in a harsh tone. I kick him as hard as I can in his shin. I pick up my bag and run.

I look back and sure enough he's following me. It's a good thing I'm the fastest person on my old schools track team. Put just my luck I run into another person this time knocking him over and it just happened to be Four. I was about to stand up when Peter lifts me and punches me right in the nose making me fall over.

Four gets up and punches him in the eye. I look up and see the whole "popular" group looking at me in astonishment. "Are you alright?" Four say turning to me. I feel like I'm corner they all made a circle around me but they didn't look like they wanted to hurt me that actually looked like they cared. Blood streams down my face and I hold my nose, then I get up and run right out the door.

I can't let my parents see I have a bloody nose. So I run into the car with Caleb and use a wipe to clean it up. "What happened to you?" Caleb says. "Just drive" I say as I'm wiping blood from my nose.

I tell him the whole story even the part where they circled me. "Yeah so stay say from Peter." I say when I'm done telling the story. "Note taken" he says. "Oh and can you sort of not tell mom and dad they are already stresses out with work and moving ok?"
"Sure thing."

"So did you make any friends yet."
"Yes" I say "Christina Al and Will what about you?"
"Yeah Edward who's a little violent Mayra his girlfriend and a really cute girl Cara I hope she doesn't have a boyfriend." His face turned immediately red.
"Did I say that last part out loud?" He says.
"Yup" I say laughing. "At least she doesn't know your a nerd yet"
"Hey, she is geeky too"
"Ohhhhh look at that geek love!" I say laughing.

"Oh shut up and fix your nose" he say and I look in the mirror and realize my nose is crooked. I touch it and yell in pain.
"I think you should tell mom and dad" Caleb says.
"No, I'll be fine"
