Chapter 6: Cupid Strikes

I wake up on Sunday feeling a lot better. I look at the clock 10:48. I jump out of bed. Wait, church already started there is no way I'm going to church. I silently walk down the stairs and see a note on the table.

Dear Beatrice,
The rest of the family went to church but we thought you could use the rest and let you sleep in. See you at 1:00.
Love,
Mom

They went to church without me. I was actually pretty disappointed, I really wanted to repent at the church for what happened Friday. I make a smoothie and eat peanut butter toast, then head back to my room.

I open up my Bible and start reading, then I kneel by my bed and repent. Then I make a promise I know I won't keep.

To stay away from Four.

Time lapse

Tris: Hey Will
Will: hey tris
T: listen my brother is threatening to tell my parents about how drunk I got if I don't find out who Cara likes would u be an awesome friend and save my life by telling me who she likes?
W: Um, well we don't tell each other that stuff but I know she isn't looking for a relationship after she just broke up with Al.
T: Oh that isn't good.
W: she has been acting weird lately though and mentions Caleb sometimes, so I'll try to find out.
T: thx a ton u r a lifesaver!

I lay in my bed wide awake, it's 11:00 and I have school tomorrow but I still can't sleep. Why would I ever drink? My brother is forcing me to be his personal Cupid. How am I going to be looked at at school? Will my parents find out? What would they do? Should I tell my friends in Wisconsin? What am I going to do about Four? Well that thought was random, I didn't even know what I meant by that. Then I drift of to sleep.

Monday morning first class, ughhhhhhhhhh! I sit in my normal spot and so far no one had mentioned the party. I haven't talked to Will about Cara yet but I asked if we could talk at lunch. I told Christina the whole story but didn't want Al to find out because she's his ex girlfriend. So Christina will talk to Al the whole time and I will talk to Will.

The next two periods go slow and uneventful. Finally lunch. I grab my lunch and walk to lunch alone. The next thing I now is I'm being pinned to a locker by Peter and Molly and Drew are at his side.

"So I here your a tattle tal." Peter says. He was talking about when I told my mom he beat me up.
"Well I had to explain the black eye and broken jaw." I say trying to escape his grasp.

He thinks for a moment then grabs my hair and smacks my head against the locker.
"Well I guess there won't be any marks, this time?" He says grinning. Then starts to choke me.

Right when I was about to pass out from lack of air he let go. Then he banged my head against the locker and I hear him say, "I guess shes weaker than we thought."

Time lapse

I wake up in the nurses office, with a horrible headache.
"Mornin Sunshine." A voice says. I open my eyes to Uriah grinning about two inches from my face.
"Ah." I yell and sit up hitting his head at the same time.
"Oww." we say at the same time. And then everything goes black again.

Time lapse... again

"I think she's waking up." says someone.
"Well don't go in front of her face again." this time a girl voice. I open my eyes and sure enough, the people I was trying to stay away from are in the nurses office with me.

"What happened?" I ask.
"You passed out." Shauna says.
"No! Peter beat me up."
"That would explain the concision."says Four from behind the others. Great he's here to.
"Well what are you guys doing here?" I ask.

"We were the first ones to find you so Four carried you in the office, and they told is you had a concision so we stayed and waited for you to wake up." Zeke says.

"What time is it?" I ask.
"3:30." Uriah says. My jaw drops, I missed 5 periods.
"Don't worry we told the teachers you passed out, and they gave us your homework." Four says.
"So you guys skipped class today?" I ask.

"Only Four." Zeke says.
"Yeah I didn't feel like going to school anyway." Four says waving his hand in the air like it's not a big deal. I get up grab my backpack which is heavier than normal so they must of put my books in it.

I walk out of the office quickly and they run after me.
"What's the hurry tiny?" Four says. I glare at him then keep walking.
"I have to get home." I say walking faster.
"Let me drive." Four says.
"Caleb's driving me." I say.
"He went home I told him I was driving you." I stop and look at him. Then he starts walking in the other direction and I follow him.

The car ride was silent and Four actually did a pretty good job at driving. He didn't go off the rode at all.
We get to my house and I get out of his car without another word.

I walk in the house and head for my room when my mom stops me.
"Beatrice I got a call from the school saying you fainted and got a concussion." she says worried.
"Oh yeah I was in a hurry this morning and forgot to eat breakfast and when I fainted I must of hit my head really hard." I say obviously lying and run to my room.

I walk in my room and look at my phone, I got a text from Will about Cara.
W: Hey Tris Cara likes Caleb!
T: Oh my gosh u r a lifesaver thank u thank u thank u!!!!
W: No prob it wasn't that hard and I really want my sis to be happy again.
T: Well I gtg do hw since I missed a ton of classes.
W: Oh yeah what happened?
T: Peter knocked me our for 5 periods
W: Yikes well get well soon see ya
T: See ya

"Caleb!" I shout from my room. he's just down the hall so he should've heard me. He comes.
"Yeah." he says, he must know what I'm about to tell him cause I never call him in my room.
"Will texted me about Cara."
"Yeah?" He says walking closer.
"SHE LIKES YOU!" I say or more like screech, this would be my brothers first girlfriend.
"Haha." he says and picks me and and twirls me around and hugs me.

Time Lapse

I wake up and jump our of bed. Caleb is asking Cara out today. I'm a little nervous cause she doesn't want a relationship right now but she does like him.

I throw on a gray crop top that says "fierce" on it, and some dark blue skinny jeans. I run downstairs and grab a Cliff bar and leave right away. My parents hate it when I wear crop tops.

The car ride is silent but not the normal silent. It's more of a nervous excited silence. When we get there I give him a hug and wish him good luck.

The day goes by so fast. I go to the car and realize Caleb isn't there, so I call him and he doesn't answer. Oh no. I run to his locker but stopped and stared. Caleb was leaning on a locker talking to Cara. I can't believe I'm saying this but he actually looked cool.
Then he leaned over and gave Cara a kiss and waved goodbye. I'm guessing it went well.

Hey guys sry there wasn't much of Foutris in it but I just wanted to get Caleb a girlfriend, the next chapter is going to be Christina's point off view and it is going to be a flashback of the party just so you know what happened thx guys for reading luv y'all!😘
