Chapter 31: Recovery

Fours POV

Previously...
Then I hear someone running after me,"Four wait up!" I hear Zeke call.
"You can't stop me." I say looking forward and walking faster.
"I'm not here to stop you. I'm coming with you." he says."If that bastard ever touched Shauna he would be as good as dead."

We walk back into Al's apartment and see something horrific...

Al. Dead. Next to him is a suicide note.

Dear Tris,
I loved you since I met you. I tried to break you and Four up multiple times but it never worked. I just wanted one kiss. I know I can never be forgiven for what I've done. I love you,

Al

Me and Zeke stare at the note. How are we going to tell the others. Then we hear a scream and turn around to see Christina. She slowly walks forward. Her face is frozen in a look of horror.

She knew Al since kindergarten her Will and Al were best friends since. I don't know what to say. But I know one thing, I'm not sad at all. He thinks he can harass my wife ask for forgiveness, then when he doesn't get it he kills himself.

I don't say anything I just leave.

Tris POV

I wake up to my head throbbing.
"Tris?" I deep voice says and I realize it's Tobias.
"Tobias." I whisper with my eyes half open.
"Tris." he says more sure this time and I open my eyes.

I realize I'm in Tori's and Amar's apartment.
"How long have I been out?" I ask.
"About a day." he says.
"A day?"
"It turns out you had some head injury's and your past concussions made it worse." he explains.

Then I realize everybody's gone and Tobias has bags under his eyes. He realizes my confusion and speaks up,"Um Tris there's something I gotta tell you about Al." he says and I shutter at the name.
"Please. Don't." I say,"I don't care, I just don't want to hear his name or anything about him."
"Tris it's really important." he says.
"No!" I shout. He gets caught off guard by that and stands.

I start to cry and he lays in the bed next to me. I don't know where the feeling comes from but I immediately get tense. It reminded me of Al.
"What's wrong?" Tobias asks.
"Nothing." I lie,"Im just going to get some rest."
He nods then kisses my head and I shutter.

I close my eyes and pretend to sleep.
What is happening to me? Why am I afraid of my own husband? Will he be like his father? No! I don't know why I even thought of that. Al did something to me. I don't know what, but it's effecting me and Tobias' relationship.

At that thought I drift off into a horrible sleep.

I sit on my couch and watch tv. Then Tobias comes in. He has flames in his eyes. "I always hated you!" He scorns and lifts his fist and smashes it against my jaw.
"Tobias please don't!" I cry. The next thing I now he's kissing me.

"Tris I would never hurt you." he says and I remember when he said that. Then I open my eyes and see Al.

I wake up screaming and sweaty. Tobias jumps up from his sleep. I start to cry and hold my head.
"Tris..." Tobias starts.
"I'm going for a walk." I say before he can touch me. I walk out of Tori and Amar's apartment and walk in the opposite direction of mine and Als apartment.

I walk to the chasm and look down.
"Where's your scary husband?" A voice says from behind me. I look back and see Uriah.
"You know doing scary husband things. Like sleeping." I say and he laughs.
"Are you alright Tris?" Uriah asks.
"No" I say,"No I'm not. For some reason every time Four touches me I remember Al and I stop Four." I say.

"Like touch as in hold hands? Or more than that?" He says and I laugh.
"Just holding hands with him or bring near him. I now he's nothing like his fath..." I start.
"Tris," Uriah interrupts,"Ive known Four since I was a baby, and he is nothing like his father, don't be afraid of him." he assures me.

"I know," I say,"I just feel like something's going to happen."
"What do you mean?" He says.
"The Erudite have been so quiet lately. I just feel like they're going to attack."
"Don't change the subject Tris." Uriah says.

"Do you feel like something's going to happen between you and Four?"
"Yeah. I just don't know if it's good or bad yet."

Time Lapse

I only slept half the night because of my nightmare and I'm really tired. I went back to the apartment after I talked with Uriah and Four still hadn't come home yet. Then I here the door open and Four walks in.

"Hey" I say
"Hey babe, what are you doing?" He asks.
"Online shopping." I say
"You're starting to sound like Christina." he says and I laugh.

He sits next to me on the coach and I stiffen.
"What's wrong?" He asks me.
"Nothing, just, tired." I say.
"Tris, maybe you were cut out for candor, because you are a horrible liar." he says.
"I'm serous." I say with a smile on my face.
"Really?" He says then picks me up bridal style and spins me around.

The door bursts open and green gas comes in and that's the last thing I remember.
