Chapter 1: Moving

"Beatrice, honey get up!" My mom shouts from downstairs. I moan and get up. Today we are moving to Chicago. We sold our house in Milwaukee and today is our last day here.  After I take a shower I put skinny jeans on with a white shirt and a velvet leather jacket with my favorite boots. I go downstairs to eat breakfast when my dog runs up to me and jumps on me. "LILLY" I shout at the top of my lungs. I do not want to move and I feel like nothing is going my way. "Lilly come!" My brother says while walking down the stairs. I don't get why he's so happy about moving. I guess at our school he did always have a geeky reputation and didn't have many friends. I on the other hand I had five best friends who are practically sisters to me, and when I told my boyfriend I was leaving he broke up with me. We were dating for two years and now he's gone and dating someone knew. I walk into the kitchen and find there's nothing to eat cause we packed it all. That's just great. I guess I'll just skip breakfast I'm not that hungry anyways. "Oh no" my dad says " you don't need to be any more cranky than you already are, you are eating breakfast." "There's nothing to eat." I say. "here" my brother says and tosses me a muffin. I take a bite and head out the door. I sit in the back with Caleb and put in my earbuds. I put Pandora on and the first song that comes on is Boom Clap, one of my favorite songs. I fall asleep and wake up an hour later. Crap my phone died and my charger is in my bag. "Hey there sleeping beauty" my brother says. I didn't even know he was that close, he is about an inch from head.
"Is she awake?" My mom asked.
"Yeah"
"It's about time" my dad says.
"How long have I been asleep?" I ask.
"Well we are here so about two hours" my dad say. Lilly started to bark because we were slowing down. She fit right in between me and my brother, but know she was looking out the window. We found her on the street when she was just a puppy, the vet said she is about 5 and that she might be a pointer mix with a lab, so she always acts and looks like a lab puppy. We get out of the car and I look at our new house. My parents are the only ones that saw it, but I only saw pictures. it looks a lot bigger than I thought. it was all white and had a black roof. I walked into what would be my room. It had dark blue walls and a white ceiling with a walk in closet.

After I finally got all the stuff in my room, I started to unpack. I made my bed hung up my clothes and started to decorate my room. We got here at seven and it is eight o'clock at night. Finally when I'm done I go downstairs and some people are setting up our table so I go in the living room. I sit on the couch and turn on the tv. Wow it actually works. I watch 30 minutes of TV when I'm called in the kitchen. "Beatrice time for dinner." My mom yells. I lazily walk in the kitchen. Chinese food sits on the table. I hate Chinese food it always makes me sick. My brother on the hand loves Chinese. he sits at the table and smiles at me. I glare at him until my father speaks up. "So how do like the new house?" He says asking no one in particular. "I like it, I think it has that homey feeling to it." Caleb says stuffing Chinese in his mouth. "What about you Beatrice?" my father. "Eh" I say. Honestly I really hate it. I don't want to make my parents feel worse, they already know I didn't want to move. We finish dinner and open our fortune cookies. "You will have great joy" my mom says smiling. "You will meet many new people" Caleb says grinning. "You will see many new things." my dad says. I sigh and read mine " You will find new love" I say in an irritated voice. My brother bursts into laughter and my mother scolds him but I can tell both my parents are smiling. I crumble if up and throw it on the ground and then I leave and run as fast as I could to my room. When I get there I start to bawl my eyes out. After about ten minutes of crying a ringing noise comes from my laptop. I wipe my eyes then smile.i run over to it and realize my friends want to FaceTime. I accept and sit on my bed. "Hey" they all say at once. I smile at them, right in front of me are my five best friends. They smile sympathetically knowing that I was just crying cause my eyes are still really red. "How's your knew house" says my best friend Amelia. All of them are my best friends but we are pretty much just two sets of  best friends that joined together. "Horrible" I say. "How's school?" I taunt. My old High school started a week early so today was there first day. "Horrible" Amelia says in the same tone I used, but then smiles. We talked for about an hour about our day and then I say goodbye. It's midnight but I'm still not tired, either that or I'm over tired. Then Lilly cane in and cuddled up by me but took up half the bed. At about two o'clock I fall asleep. The rest of the week goes bye really slow, I have no where to go and I can only talk to my friends after school but apparently they get loaded with homework so some days I can't even talk to them. I wake up at eight. it's Sunday and we are going to a new church. It's called St.Michael's Anglican Church. I was episcopalian before but there is no episcopalian church near by so we went to an Anglican Church instead. I put on a vintage light blue dress and put my hair in a braided bun. I go downstairs eat breakfast and hop in the car. I have my drivers license but we only have one car for now. When we arrive we take a seat on the right column in the middle. It's a small church, about 100 people there. The service was 2 hours long but I don't really mind I love going to church, plus it's a distraction. When we get home I put on some leggings and a tank top. I go downstairs  and turn the tv on.

I sit in my bed for a while thinking. School is tomorrow
I need to make friends
But what if I don't
I will
It took long enough for you to make friends last time, you never make friends
I sat there for about an hour arguing with myself and finally fall asleep.
