Dauntless High

Chapter 16: Fun

I wake up in the dormitory to someone shaking me. It's Christina.
"Come on sleepy head it's 8:00." she says. I groan and get out of bed. Everyone else is gone.

Yesterday we found out the government was trying to take over the US. Since the "enemy" as they call them, knows were now apart of this we have to stay underground. It's called Dauntless headquarters and it is huge! Yesterday Tobias had to go everywhere with me cause I kept getting lost.

The only place I remember is from the dormitory to the cafeteria, and that's where we're headed now.

I get up throw a black thick strapped tanky on with with black leather pants. Apparently everyone here wears black to represent they're dauntless, so I do the same. I look at Christina and almost laugh, she is wearing a black puffy skirt and leggings with a black lose shirt. She hates wearing all the same colors more than anything.

"Nice outfit." I say.
"Shut up." she mumbles. I laugh and we jog to the cafeteria. I try to remember the directions as well as possible but we have to stop and look at a map on the wall. We just have to take a right and then go straight.
"Race ya." Christina says running. I laugh and sprint. I beat her of course cause she barely runs and that's all I really do.

Once we go in everyone stops and stares. We stare back for a moment not knowing what to do.
"Tris!" Uriah shouts waving his hands in the air. He's in a really long line with the rest of the gang. We walk over to him in silence. Everyone watches us walk over.

When we finally walk over which felt like an eternity, Four puts his arm around me then everyone starts talking again.
"What was that about?" I ask.
"This corporation has been running for over 50 years, and there aren't many new recruits, so when there are, well... that happens." he explains.

The line was really long but luckily Uriah got up early to save us a spot right in the front of the line.
"So what exactly do we do here?" Will asks while grabbing two pieces of toast.
"Hey!" The lunch lady said, "You want more than one serving you'll have to go to the end of the line!" She scolds. Will states at her paralyzed in fear. He slowly put one piece of toast back then continued walking.

"Sorry about that, her name is Joy, it's sort of a joke though given that she's a grumpy old lady." Four says laughing.
"So to answer your earlier question, we basically don't really do anything here."

"NO SCHOOL!" We say in unison.
"Well we train, but that's physical so no not really." he says. We look at each other and smile.
"No school." we all start to whisper over and over again.
"Ok guys now your starting to freak me out." Four says, and we all laugh.

Time lapse

After breakfast we go back to the dormitory. We sit on our beds for a while on our phones.
"UGH! They have such bad wifi here!" Christina complains.

"Why don't we do something." Al says turning off his phone.
"Yeah." Will says also turning off his phone too. We all turn our phones off and look up.

"So what do we do now?" Uriah asks.
"I don't know, we've never really done anything without our phones." Marlene says.
"There's a party tonight we could perform there." Four says. We all smile and nod.

We get up and follow Four to the party room. It's twice the size off our gym and I thought our gym was big.
"What song do you want to sing?" Shauna asks.
"UPTOWN FUNK!" Zeke and Uriah shout.

We all look at each other and nod. Uptown Funk was there favorite song and we all liked it so we agreed.

Time lapse

The party is in 1 hour and we practiced like 100 times. We all memorized the song already we just had to learn who sang what, and of course Zeke and Uriah sing the most parts. The only part I sing is "Don't believe me just watch." Which I don't mind that much, I do a lot of dancing especially with Tobias.
