It was noon, the only time of day where the sun was high enough in the sky to break through the swirling clouds. It was at this time when the travelers arrived outside the ancient city-castle of Cornelia, greatest kingdom in all the land. Together the four walked through the cracked but well-cared-for streets, all eyes on them. Townsfolk gathered quickly, word spreading that at long last the prophecy was coming true. They were escorted to the castle directly by the King's personal guard. Whispers and murmurs from the crowd were muted by the sounds of heavy armor marching.

Alone, those four travelers entered the castle, guided by a single knight. He led them through the castle, until they were presented to King Winters.

All at once the four knelt, bowing their heads.

"Welcome travelers," the King said, allowing them to look up again. "I am told you carry crystals. Is this true?"

A young man in crimson armor from some foreign nation pulled a gem from his pocket. Its flames were red as his hair with an unnatural light glowing from within as its eternal fires flickered, and a heavenly warmth surrounded it.

Beside him, a woman in long white robes akin to the war healers of old pulled out a similar gem. Hers was a soothing green, smoke and wind swirling in its center as a friendly breeze encased it.

Then another man, a bit older, a bit rougher, dressed in tattered blue robes that belonged to no flag. His crystal was as heated bronze, rock solid and opaque, yet smooth and polished like a mirror.

Finally a young lady, her face concealed behind a black mask and raven hair. Her blue robes and yellow pointed hat were that of the old Black Mages-- ancient occultists who practiced dark rituals-- yet here she was holding the blue crystal. It shimmered like waves in perpetual sunset, as if reflecting some internal star.

These were the four crystals as described by the prophesies, which meant there was no doubt these four were the Warriors of Light from that same prophesy.

King Winters leaned back in his throne, assured that these travelers were in fact the heroes as expected. "It's just as Lukahn's prophecy foretold. When darkness veils the world, four Warriors of Light shall come..."

The Chancellor stepped forward, drawing the King's attention. "Your Majesty, we cannot be certain that these are the warriors foretold by the prophecy."

"Yet they stand before us with the crystals," King Winters said sternly. "I cannot dismiss this as mere coincidence." He turned his powerful gaze to the travelers. "Crystal bearers, there is a task I would ask of you. Will you not rescue my daughter, Sarah?"

Each of the heroes looked confused. This was not the task they expected to be given, but they weren't about to question the King.

The chancellor stepped in to clarify. "Garland, a knight once in his majesty's service, has abducted princess Sarah. I ask for your aid in the name of his majesty, King of Cornelia."
