The smile slid off his face, but he recovered himself. "Animus magic? I'm sure we have some. What kind of animus scrolls, though? Animus magic itself? The history of it? The animus dragons in history?" Nova could hear the suspicion in his voice. I need to be careful. I just got here. "Um...I guess all 3. It's just for some light reading. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a scrollworm..." She laughed nervously, trying to deflect any suspicion. Starflight smiled, "I can relate. Fatespeaker can show you."
Then he beamed, "And there she is!" Nova looked behind her and jumped. Fatespeaker had suddenly appeared. "Here are your scrolls, and a bookbag if you want it." Nova grinned, "Thanks!" She slung the bookbag over her neck, and tucked the scrolls inside of it. She left the library, and walked back to her sleeping cave. She yawned. No one else had come to her cave yet...Maybe I can take a short nap. She went to her ledge, took off the bookbag and closed her eyes. There was loud chatter outside the cave, so she had trouble falling asleep. So she thought of home. The raindrops, the insects and birds and animals chirping and singing, the laughter of young dragonets in the nursery... She smiled to herself. It felt good to think of home. It was the last thing she remembered as she drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
Just another ordinary chapter. Next one's a bit more exciting.
