The buzzing stopped and the pair landed in what appeared to be a forest. They flew up to get a lay of the land. "No-, I mean, Moonstone, look!" She turned to where he was pointing. "It looks like...a school." She said to him. Her point was proven when some Nightwing dragonets came outside, and started running around. "Wait, Serval, I forgot to enchant you!" Serval spun around, "Oh moons, I don't have anything for you to enchant." Nova looked around hurriedly. She picked up a small tree branch. "I enchant this branch to turn into a golden ring, which will turn Serval the Sandwing into a Nightwing, who is stronger than most dragons, but not too much. Serval's memories should remain intact, and the ring can only be removed by him." The tree branch started to change before their eyes. The branch curled up, and the wood was transformed into gold. "Oh wow," Serval said breathlessly. Nova grinned, "It's not much, but it should work." Serval took it from her and put it on. The change was almost instant. Nova heard Serval stifle a gasp, and she asked worriedly, "Are you ok?" He nodded, "Yeah, just a little shaken." His voice hadn't changed at all, but the rest of him had. He wasn't as big as his Sandwing form, but he was still big. He looked stronger, too. "Like what you see?" Serval teased. Nova flushed. "Yes, wait, no! Wait, I-" she groaned. "Leave me alone."Serval laughed. "You're too pretty for me not to tease you." He leaned over and poked her shoulder. "Agh, stop it." Nova grumbled, "We should go." Serval nodded. The two flew to the school and snuck in. They were almost caught by a snooty-looking Nightwing with glasses. "That was close." Serval whispered. They made it to the courtyard, and they hung around in a corner. "So...now what?" Serval asked. "I...do not know." Nova replied, "I'm not sure what our purpose here is." Serval thought for a moment, "Why Darkstalker's time, specifically? Maybe something about his history?" Nova snapped her talon, "Yes! He wreaked havoc when he got older as an animus, because he wasn't careful with his magic." Serval nodded, "So I think we-" "Along with Fathom, Indigo, and Clearsight," Nova interrupted. Serval continued, "Yeah, all 5 of us. I think we're supposed to stop him from doing the bad things he does in the future." Nova's eyes widened in excitement. "We're gonna be part of history." Serval shook his head, "We can't. It would change everything, and raise a lot of questions about how we're still living in our current timelines. We'd be safe as footnotes." Nova chuckled, "Yeah, probably." They stood in silence for a moment, before they were interrupted by a voice.
