It was an hourglass. She picked it up, and dusted the sand off. It was beautiful, with golden sand, and intricate carvings on the wooden frame. Wait...these aren't just carvings... She squinted and took a closer look. "These aren't just carvings, they're words!" She turned it around, trying to find the start of it. She looked at the top, and read the content in her mind. To use this, you must possess something that only those who deserve it have. "Something that only those who deserve it have...what does that mean?" Then she thought back to her unfortunate encounter with Cobra. Cobra's words replayed in her head. "You have a gift." A gift. A gift. A gift... Animus magic! I can use this! She flipped it over, and there was text on the bottom too. "I enchant-" Wait, I can't say it out loud, or think it, before I know what the enchantment is. She read the end. "To take me to Darkstalker's time." Why would I need to go to Darkstalker's time? "Nova!" Serval yelled. He landed next to her and breathed heavily. "What is that?" he asked, seeing the hourglass. "It's an hourglass." she said simply. "But it has writing on it." Serval asked, "What does it say?" Nova replied, "I can't say it, because I'm an animus. You could say it." Serval nodded and looked at the bottom. "I enchant this artifact to take me to Darkstalker's time, and to take me back to my timeline if my life is in immediate danger." Nova blinked, "I didn't see that last part." Serval shrugged. "Some of the sand must have brushed off when you handed it to me." He studied it for a moment. "A Sandwing made this. For sure." Nova cocked her head, "How do you know that?" Serval gave her a small smile, "It has Sandwing written all over it. This is acacia wood, which is commonly found in deserts. And this sand is very rare, and from a special area in the Kingdom of Sand." Nova nodded, "That makes sense. But why would it want to take me to Darkstalker's time?" Serval shrugged again, "I don't know." Nova looked down, "I think I should go." Serval's eyes widened, "Back in time? No way, not by yourself." Nova snorted, "How are you going to help me if you're a Sandwing?" Serval looked hurt. "No, wait, that's not what I meant!" Nova cried. "What I mean is if we run into Darkstalker or any other Nightwing from the past, they're going to question why a Sandwing and Nightwing are traveling together. And then our cover would be blown." Serval thought for a second. "That makes sense, actually. So how am I going to come with you?" Nova smiled, "I have an idea."
