Hey guys, I am SO SORRY for taking so long to update. School was keeping me very busy, and I was really stressed about our upcoming StuCo elections! (Cross your fingers for me!)
Anyway...onto the story!
She could hear dragonets outside squealing and laughing, without a care in the world. Nova sighed. Sometimes, she wished that she was a Rainwing, and that she could be as laid back and relaxed as them. This opinion made her very unpopular amongst the Nightwings. The Rainwings stayed away from her too, because she was a Nightwing. They didn't trust her. But why should they? she thought sadly. Her tribe had done terrible things to the Rainwings. Her tribe had lied to the rest of Pyrrhia about their powers. She grabbed some scrolls and went outside. She flew to her secret spot. It was away from the Nightwing village, and perfect for someone who wanted to be alone. Her favorite tree, a giant one with huge leaves and lots of shade, was in the secret spot. She sighed with relief and sat down. Finally...some peace. But then she heard footsteps. "Hey scrollworm!" she looked up from her scroll. There was no one in sight. She heard laughing, and she looked around and saw a trio of Nightwings huddled up above the tree. One of them had a huge rock, and another was taking a deep breath...like they were about to release some fire. The tree! She dropped her scroll, and flew up to them. She growled, "Leave this tree alone. Queen Glory doesn't allow fire in the rainforest." The leader, a dragonet named Clawbreaker, snorted. "And why should we listen to you? You're nothing but a disgrace. An excuse of a Nightwing." That stung. Nova clenched her jaw, "I will not let you burn this tree. Queen Glory gave you a comfortable home to live in. You should respect that." Clawbreaker rolled his eyes. "Oh shut up, tree-hugger!" He suddenly lunged at her, and knocked her out of the air. She yelped as she started falling. She hit the ground with a sickening crack, and the last thing she heard was screaming.
