FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOR- err, NEVER, IT'S AN ALTERNATE POV!
Serval's POV
Serval watched as Nova walked up to Leopard, and when she hugged him, his heart sank. But what else could I expect? I'm good enough for her. She was brave, smart, funny, beautiful...while he was a good-for-nothing jerk. On the first day, he screwed up, and let his anger get out of hand. Now the whole school probably hated him. Except Hurricane, who had been his best friend practically since he was born! And Nova. I don't think she hates me. Otherwise she wouldn't have talked to me or even looked at me this whole time. Leopard hated him for sure. Jealousy or defensiveness, he didn't know. He wondered if he would ever be able to make any friends other than Hurricane and Nova. After his mother died, his father became a shell of his former self. He was still a good dad, but he was more distant. Serval's older brother was much older, and had already moved on and had his own life, so Serval was alone. He got angry easily. Why? He was mad at life. For taking away his mom, and for pushing him away from his dad. So, he picked fights. He won every single fight he had. Queen Thorn must've noticed he was upset, or she wouldn't have sent him to JMA. That, or she wanted to get rid of me so the kingdom would be more peaceful... he thought sadly. He stood there, trapped in his own thoughts, when Hurricane nudged him, and whispered, "Serval? Hey, you ok?" Serval nodded, and replied, "Yeah, I'm just thinking." Then he remembered what Nova had said on their way back. 'I have something to tell our winglet.' He wondered what it could be. He walked over to Nova, and tapped her on the shoulder. "Didn't you want to tell us something?" he asked. She winced. Great. Another mistake. I'm such a screw-up... He blurted, "Sorry." Nova grimaced, "It's fine, it's just a very...sensitive topic." The others had unfortunately heard Serval's question, and turned to look at her. Leopard's scales rippled with turquoise and bright orange. Part of his scales were light and dark green with a bit of blue as well. Serenity and curiosity, with envy and jealousy, and a bit of sadness. Everest asked, "What is it, Nova?" Amber said, "Whatever it is, we're by your side." Hurricane smiled encouragingly, "You got this." Nova closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
