Chapter 24• Family Troubles (For The Bad Boy)
At lunch today we confronted the guys. Even after I went home yesterday, no texts or calls from them, zilch, nothing, nada.
Although at before 5 in the morning they suddenly realised that they ditched the wrong girls. Bridget and I got a text and at the time we didn't even have to talk to know that we both aren't responding to them. Mike may be a good future boyfriend for Bridget, and Blake might be someone who admitted he wants/wanted to kiss me, but it's unacceptable to ditch and forget about 2 girls and plans they had organised.
Bridget was back into full swing today. She gratefully picked me up this morning, and I wouldn't like to recall how she even woke me up, at 6 am which is half an hour before I usually get up. Let's just say, shoving items of clothing up your nostrils when you're a nose-breather isn't the most thrilling way to wake someone. Bridget ended up with a kick in the stomach and punch on her forearm. I do not take kindly when it comes to my sleep.
After we released our anger, I got ready and school dragged on, until lunch that is.
So here I am now, standing with my arms firmly crossed in front of my chest, my foot tapping oh-so-lady-like, and a glare that im hoping will bring a grown man to his knees, which is currently aimed at their - must I admit - muscular backs. The boys haven't seen us yet, but after filling Michelle in and by the look she is sending us now, she knows what's about to go down and she's the only one who knows we're here.
Noel on the right, Ryan next to him, Blake on the left of Ryan and Mike on the left of Blake, they were all sitting with their backs to us as they continued munching away on their lunches. Today's special was fries and hamburgers, of course the most unhealthy food. I was sure that the rest of the boys food wasn't going to be finished after they had seen us.
Michelle cleared her throat, and before quickly sending us a smirk, she kept a straight face while preparing for what she was going to announce. "I wish you all the best, now I hope you enjoy being put in your spot by two furious chica's." Noel was the first to look behind him, the other three froze and stiffened their backs. Ryan turned with a 'don't-kill-me-I'm-sweet' smile. His eyes quickly darted to the floor and he thought up another plan, before lifting his head and giving us puppy dog eyes.
Bridget and I's glare didn't falter.
Mike and Blake, almost simultaneously spun around and looked mostly scared to death. Blake's eyebrow was twitching and he was struggling to keep eye contact. I immediately thought to our almost-kiss but tried to rid of the memory. After all, this was my time to shine and I didn't want to ruin my facade.
Bridget and I waited silently, daring one of them to speak. After too much tension, Noel got up and scurried away from the table after Michelle, obviously making the right choice.
Mike smiled and scratched his neck. Ah. So he was the daring one.
"We know you want an explanation and we understand why you're mad..." He trailed off. He hadn't thought through what he was going to say and the terror and nervousness in his eyes scraped away the bad-boy, daring escapade. Bridget and I were obviously enjoying this, but we kept our faces unamused.
"There is actually a really good reason." Ryan added hopefully but yet, none of them had spoke of what that reason actually is! How funny, really. Revenge comes sweetly.
I laughed, humourlessly. "Oh really? Please, do inform us!" I directed my fiery eyes to Blake, finally wanting him to say something. He has kept awfully quiet and the look on his face shows guilt mostly, with terror by the way he isn't looking directly at us. He was thinking hard, trying to form an answer.
