Chapter 6• Oh, you actually believe that?

"Hey! It's you! You never apologised for making me late to English!" Blake had a serious face that made me crumble on the inside.

"Wait-WHAT? Why should I have to apologise? It's mostly your fault anyway!" For once, I'm not stuttering, I think it's because I'm too busy being angry at what he just accused me of. No way was I apologising.

"Whoa, you actually have a voice! And there's no way it was my fault fault. I'm too perfect."

Um. Ok that got me. I just looked at him trying to be blank. But I think my mouth open and wide eyes didn't succeed.

"Yea, that's what I thought. I am too perfect, aren't I?"

Oh now that's just... I don't even know how to explain because I believe it a bit more than I should.

"No way. If your so perfect, then how did you manage to bump into someone AND make the 2 of them late?" I looked at him waiting. My words didn't make him think as much as I hoped, he answered confidently.

"Well sweetheart, your missing the point that YOU bumped into ME, and YOU made us both late. Now tell me again, I am too perfect aren't i?" He then winked at me. Holy macaroni...

"Uh-uh. Your not fooling me there. I never said you were 'too perfect'."

We both gave each other death glares.

"Um, excuse me. Sorry about the interruption, whatever you two are doing there-" Locky started and was cut off. He was waving his hands confusedly.

"Oh, they were just flirting with each other!" Ryan grinned and said loudly. Both of our heads snapped towards him and gave him a death glare. He looked at me still grinning. Then he looked at Blake for not even a second before turning away and saying "Continue..."

"Yea um, as I was saying, we really should be going. You two can continue another time. Ella, we have to go." I felt my cheeks starting to heat up. Without saying goodbye, I looked at Ryan and tugged Locky by the arm showing him how eager I was to go. He immediately followed.

I didn't dare look back. I was still trying to process what just happened. But there wasn't much time to think on the drive home anyway, and I ended up forgetting about it.

I was at my locker getting my books. I have... History and art. Urghh history. I don't mind art. Actually, I love it. I'm pretty good at it, I want to make it somehow in my future career. Something to do with design, maybe graphic.

I shut my locker door snapping myself out of my thoughts.

"Oh em gee. Look who it is. The new girl. Well, nerd, seems like you are already disliked by many people for purposely spilling your drink on me. And then insulting me! Gee, who do you actually think you are? What did I ever do to you?" The blonde girl that Bridget said her name was... Courtney hope? Yea she's talking to me right now. Seriously, get outta my face.

"Oh is that what happened that day? I'm sorry that I don't brag about a lie." I really wanted to storm off but I really wanted to punch her.

"No, that's what happened, there's even witnesses!" She said this like she had won the argument.

"Oh, so you actually believe that?"

"Of course I do! It's what happened!"

"Ok, well Excuse me I really don't like talking to people who have their head up their ass. So bye." Yea it's not the nicest thing I could say, but I really wanted to get to class and it came out to quickly. Whoop-de-do.

Slap.

Ouch. What the-

Oh my god. Did she just slap me?

"Courtney! Since when did you become such a bitch! Apologise to her! You nutcase... " Someone was standing beside me on the side where Courtney slapped me. I had my hand cupped over my cheek. Although it was stinging, both my cheeks heated up and I was blushing crimson red at the deep voice.

"What! I'm not apologising! You can't make me." With that she walked away like a spoilt child.

"You ok?" Blake was looking at me with a bit of concern and anger.

"Uh... yea, I'll be fine" I tried saying it as strong as I could. My voice broke a little. But I don't think he noticed it. We were looking into each others eyes. Unfortunately he broke the eye contact.

"Ok, well then see ya." 'Simply' would be the only way I could describe it. He acted like nothing happened, which is probably better because it would've been really awkward. I gave him my own little smile looking up for a second from the ground. He then turned and walked away. I was still shocked, I stood there for what felt like hours, watching him walk away. It was more like seconds though. And then I decided to head to class.

Why is it I have had more than 24 hours to rethink situations in my head, yet I still don't understand them?

Well, that exactly what was happening with the situation with Blake and Courtney yesterday morning. Surprisingly, it wasn't the top gossip news, not many people saw what happened. And also Bridget didn't know yet. I couldn't explain it to myself and I was too busy thinking to explain it to her.

I havn't seen him the rest of the day except for lunch, when we made eye contact and then he looked away.

"Hey, Ella, did you do the homework? I don't understand this question." Bridget was whispering to me, which reminded me I was sitting in a classroom at school.

"Sorry, forgot to do it. Can't help ya."

Bridget looked at me with her mouth open on shock. It's not very often that I forget my homework. I don't remember the last time I did.

"Bridget, Ella, what is so important that you are disrupting my class?" Miss Scott looked at us with her eyebrows pressed together.

"Oh sorry miss, I was just asking Ella about a question I don't understand that was on the homework sheet."

"Well then Bridget, I'm sure Mike will be glad to help. You two may sit at the back of the classroom, as long as you don't disrupt my class again."

"Yes miss." Bridget got up and still fumbling with her books and pens, she made her way to the back of the classroom where Mike already was. I'm pretty sure she hasn't realised that Mike is the one that winked at her.

I watched her look up from her books and lay eyes on the quite good looking Mike. Her eyes locked on him for a second. Ah, she's realised. What a cute couple they'd be...

Later that night while I was doing my home work, Bridget's ringtone played on my phone. I picked up and we ended up talking for 2 hours. I told her everything about Blake. And she told me about what happened in class with Mike. I have decided to somehow get them together. I don't know how yet but they will be together, in love, happy. I will make sure it happens.
