Chapter 15• Getting asked out
"So my offer actually was taken upon! Out of everyone, I never would've thought that good girl Ella spent the day with bad-ass Blake!" Mike exclaimed.
"That's because she's not a good girl." Blake and Bridget said at the same time. They both looked at each other and shared knowing smiles.
"Hey! You guys are so judgemental!" I said to them, my hands forcefully set on the table. We were currently at a lunch table at school, with Bridget, Blake, Mike and Ryan all chatting and smiling.
"Well, I'm sorry I don't know her as well as you two!" Mike ignored my comment and turned to Blake and Bridget.
"I can't believe that Ella spent the day with you. And the night!" Bridget said directed to Blake, but everyone was watching them.
"Bridget, it's not that big of a deal. Our families work together, remember?" I said to Bridget, but only her.
"Sure, I remember. What did you do with Ella?" Bridget asked Blake. The rest of the group said 'really, I didn't know that' and some other things to each other when Bridget and I said that our families work together.
"Movies, KFC, boxing, nothing special." Blake shrugged. It hurt me a little when he said nothing special, because it wasn't ordinary to me for someone to want to do those things with me, and we had some fun. But I guess it doesn't mean anything to him, he probably does it all the time.
"I predicted it!" Mike called, suddenly tuned-in to our conversation again. "Did you know, that Ryan didn't want Blake to take you home?" Mike leaned over and told me in a loud-whisper, so that both Ryan and Blake also heard.
"Uh...?" Was my answer.
"Really Mike? You had to tell her that?" Ryan frowned and glared at Mike. It's hard to believe that these guys have a mishap in their friendship, they are so close and I have never thought of them as anything less than the bestest of friends. Seemed different at the moment, though.
"What? It's not my fault you and Blake both wanted to play 'overprotective big brother' on Ella..." Mike defended. This was news to my ears, confusing and amusing.
"What are you on about?" Blake imputed, looking slightly annoyed and confused.
"Remember when Ryan said to you 'your not safe and responsible enough, she should go with me'?" Ryan started to recall, all three of them blocking me and Bridget's amused and confused faces out.
"But you were like, 'no way, she's mine.' Then you's had a mini-stand off-" Mike blabbered, changing his tone of voice with each person who he quoted.
"Whoa, whoa... To much information at-" I started
"She's right, too much information for her to hear." Blake almost growled at Mike. I was going to say 'at once', so they could break it down or something.... Not 'at all'.
"Ok fine, I can do the questioning now, not the explaining." Mike said brighter than before. Blake and Ryan both seemed relieved at the change of topic.
"What do you mean by that?" Bridget asked.
"Well, I wanna be all up in the junk of yesterday. The party was just the beginning of you two, wasn't it?" Mike beamed at us.
"What?! Mike! No! I mean... We-" I was cut off by the glorious sound of chuckles, and I looked at Blake to see his head thrown back and laughing out loud. Mike was smirking smugly.
"No! We! What?!" Ryan said in a high-pitched voice, mocking me. The mood has completely flipped in a matter of seconds. From death glares to not being able to hold in laughter. Ryan and Mike were both trying to hold it in, either by their fist in their mouth or biting really hard on their bottom lip.
