Chapter 9• Officer Hunter
Bridget and I looked down at the ground sheepishly.
The boys, Blake, Mike, Ryan and Noel had their arms crossed and eyebrows raised, giving us a 'what-the-hell-did-you-do' look.
Bridget and I sighed in sync. "Well, it was harmless really, we just played a little prank on a women, and her freaked-out over-protected partner decided to chase us." Bridget admitted, but still not giving them eye contact.
"Fill is in on what sort of prank you pulled..." Blake asked, I could hear the smirk in his voice, but he still had his arms crossed.
"Well, we just poured some food and other things over her head when she was in a change room. And watched her freak-out."
"Are you kidding! That's nothing!" Mike exclaimed, as he started to chuckle. Bridget blushed.
"Well yeah that's what we thought, she was trying on this skirt which they probably have to pay damage for now aswell," I said with guilt. "-which by the way totally didn't suit her!" I felt my cheeks heat up a little as I said this.
"Well I think, we have to teach you some lessons in the Bad-ass area." Blake suggested, wiggling his eyebrows.
"We would absolutely love to, but problem Is that that would be a lie." I said hurtfully but playfully.
"Don't lie to yourself, I know that you would love to." Blake said confidently. I just rolled my eyes.
"One-on-one classes with the biggest bad boy out! How could you not want to!" Noel joked.
"If you have finished teasing us now, we have to get going." Bridget said. I was sort of upset she said it cause it was fun being with the guys. But we did have to.
Mike pouted, acting sad that we had to go. Blake stood there, still grinning. He looked at me with a lopsided -devil-like- smirk.
"Ok, see ya's 'round. Oh and Ella," Blake started to walk off, but before he did, he called me from over his shoulder. I looked up at him and waited for him to continue. "I know you can't help falling for me, see ya soon." Blake winked and turned around.
I scoffed loud enough for him to hear my anger. The guys walked off and I heard Blake chuckle.
Later, Bridget and I went back to my house. It was 2:00 in the afternoon and we decided we would hang out, and then we are going to my parents work. That is, by the way, at the police station. They called us over so then we could meet some of their colleagues over dinner. As usual, I asked to let Bridget tag along so I won't be bored out of my mind.
We are currently lying on my bed, playing questions and laughing at stories we would make up or remember.
"Hey, I just remember that I was considering going to a party tomorrow night. Would you come with?" Bridget asked me pleadingly.
"Uh, are you outta' your mind! Since when do we, let alone me, go to parties?" I asked.
"Come on, you used to drag me along all the time!" Bridget said enthusiastically.
"Come on, that was before you-know-who happened." I mocked her. I didn't want to bring it up, but it seemed like she needed a reminder, as did I every now and then.
She gave me a sad smile. "Look, I know. But it's been over a year now! Maybe it's time you started being you again!" Bridget looked at me with puppy dog eyes. I know what I'm like, I'm going to give in, but maybe I can act like I actually have a chance here.
