Chapter 17• Guns, Dates and The Past
I twisted the dial on my lock to poor my last periods books in my locker and go home. As I got the code and and swung my rusty locker door open, a folded piece of paper dropped out. I stared at it until it hit the ground, wondering if it actually just came out of my locker.
I bent down to pick it up, ever so slowly. When I had it in my hands I had to unfold it twice to see the handwriting on the inside. My movements where so slow, I was anticipating the moment. It would be perfect timing in a movie, for the note to say 'goodbye' or something like that, and then an explosion. I didn't think a bomb was going to off but I had a similar, much less dramatic feeling in my stomach.
It just doesn't seem right. I finalised in my head, after my mind had finished screaming questions around in my head.
The note said:
Always look behind your back. What? That was it? Someone was trying to scare me, obviously. I would like to believe it wasn't working, or not for me, but I moved my head slightly so my eyes could peek behind me. I didn't want anyone to guess I was actually believing - let alone afraid of - this note.
Absentmindedly, I had packed my bag and shut my locker door, before pausing to slowly turn around. Everything seemed normal, people pacing towards the exits or bursting out of classroom hallways. I decided to drive my mind elsewhere, trying not to let the note eat me up. I pulled out my phone and typed a message to Locky.
Just checking your still on for tonight? -E xx
I sent it and walked out of the school doors. I immediately saw Bridget waving her hand frantically. I remembered that she was driving me home, a usual thing we used to do back at our old home and school.
I jumped in her car (yes, she owned a car, it is a white Honda Civic) and read my text from Locky.
Sure am! I'll be at yours in an hour, I'm coming straight from class. Think about where we can go in the meantime :P
I typed back a message before starting a pointless conversation with Bridget on our way to my house.

"Ha! Take that! I won! You have to buy me a nerf gun!" Locky shouted, holding his gun up in victory.
"I let you win! You would've made me buy you one either way!" I answered back as we stepped out of the slightly enclosed game of .... I actually don't know what it's called, all I know is that you have to kill zombies with a gun attached to the machine.
"Your right, I would've... Why aren't you upset?" He asked amused.
"Because I don't whine or ask for a rematch if I lose a game, unlike some people..."
"Hey! I was... Distracted!"
"I could've been blindfolded and lost, but it would have still been a win for you!" I stated proud of the truth.
Locky snorted and then chuckled, I mean literally snorted. I started laughing so hard I had to stop walking and clutch my stomach, because like his snort, he has a very amusing laugh.
We walked out of the arcade, after playing many rounds of mostly the same game, as I kept beating Locky. We headed towards the first toy shop we found.
When we walked in, 'rolling in the deep' by adele was playing. Locky noticed too, looked at me with a playful smirk, then grabbed a toy microphone that had Hannah Montana on it. "We could have had it all.........." He sung. I covered my ears and closed my eyes, trying to not give him the attention he wants. Unsuccessfully, I let a giggle escape my lips as he continued singing. "Rolling in the dee........ ep."
