Same stuff, different day.

That's what came to mind when you woke up for another day at Yokai Academy. It was time to get up and go through the old routine. Sit through class either taking notes or drawing, depending on the class. Spend time with Tsukune, Outer Moka and Kurumu, who had now taken a legitimate liking to Tsukune and yourself. It was mostly Tsukune. Her reasons were the two of you coming to her defense and averting worse from happening to her, and she believed Tsukune to be her "Destined One". This would apparently be a succubus version of a soulmate, and that put her in direct competition with Outer Moka, to comedic effect actually.

While it was good to have new individual to now call friend, you couldn't help but feel down from those same events. Sadness turned to bitterness as the one you were drawn to, Inner Moka, simply saw you as food. That made you walk off immediately afterwards. Nothing more. It wasn't defense of friends, but protecting her precious supply. That smile now looked more like a malicious sneer.

Try as you might, that did unfortunately leave unspoken tension with the normal Moka. It was not fair to her, you knew. It was not her fault that her other self was like this. In fact, how was it her fault when she largely had no memory of it other than what others had to tell her?

"I honestly have a hard time remembering anything when my rosary is gone." She explained. "It's like spectating from a blurred window and hearing faint echoes."

That didn't mean you shut her out. But did you feel like a jerk for being distant over something beyond her control?

Yes.

This class, arithmetic, differed from usual, however. The teacher not only assigned a quiz, but allowed for students to pair up, owing to some grand initiative of teamwork by higher ups. Your class had a few minutes to sort it out.

With your group of four, this presented an immediate problem. You felt that the faculty gave the allotted time for this exact thing.

"Tsukune!" Moka said immediately. She began to mover her desk to his.

"You get better grades than him! You don't need him! Tsukune, I need your help to do well!" Kurumu protested. She tried to shove her rival away, but Moka held her ground. The man meat in question simply looked on helplessly.

You sighed in resignation at the situation. There was only one way to solve this one.

"If I may interject." The trio swiveled to you. "I and Moka are more or less equal on this subject. Kurumu, you can work with me on this one. We can switch when this happens again."

The two girls stared at each other before Kurumu relented, lest she provoke another fight. She shifted her desk to be next to yours. And then, suddenly moved so that she would be in physical contact whilst sitting next to you. There were a multitude of responses that offered themselves up. Ask what is she doing. Demand space. Take it further. Enjoy the attention. Or just ignore it and focus on the work.

You opted for a whisper.

"Kurumu, what are you-"

"Quiet. Play along."

"Oh." You had figured it out. She was trying to get Tsukune jealous or simply make herself look more appealing compared to a more polite and focused Moka.
